one watch
I know there've been threads about this, but I've only just begun to consider it (not that I'm going that route, of course) in light of what I wear the most and why. My SD and Sub are classics but I've used to a bigger face and anti-refelctive coatings, and they don't seem as easy / instant to read; my black baton Seawolf is the easiest to read without a doubt and is great for diving, but actually becomes a little uncomfortable after a while, especially in hot weather, and which leaves the SMPc (my chrono version is more comfortable than the Seawolf, but has a 'busy' dial). So, if I could take only one, for climbing, surfing and scuba in one trip, it would be the SMPc. Yours?
Look at that for legibility, though:

My do-all vacation watch is my PO 2500. Definitely the most versatile watch I own.

Re: one watch
SEIKO SKX series and a couple thousand bucks in hookers should always be on the list and considered....

That's why you buy a DSSD that someone already rode hard and put away wet... Then you don't have to worry right Graham?Seppia wrote:You guys are either way too wealthy, or your vacations are way too civilized.
I need a robust watch I like, but one that I could see myself losing it underwater or scratching it hard on a rock and not feel like shit.
As of today, it's not close:
It is on Toxicrubber, which by the way is miles better vs the isofrane in my opinion.
The ISO is way too sticky and doesn't work well in hot weather, plus the keepers are a pain and it's too thick.

Re: one watch
I have an SKX007 on a tungchoy super oyster. I think I'd have to talk over the hookers with my wife, but the 007 has just about served as the only watch in lean times past.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
Re: one watch
The 16600 is still probably my choice (and my favorite watch ever) but I think the Pelagos might be it, just because it's under the radar and feels like it wants to be beaten up a bit.
Re: one watch
The 16710. It's a wafch I no longer own and prices to get a good one back are ridiculous now.
I don't think I can ever own just one but I'm trying to do this with a few. So far my X33 gen2 hasn't left my wrist since I got it last week. Strange how tastes change... My 3570.50 will never leave the stable for the same reasons. I'm trying to convince myself to keep the GS SBGE001

Re: one watch
I am still in my honeymoon phase with my DJ so it would be "the one" for now at least. My other watches have been holding down the watch box.
Re: one watch
Putting aside something out of my price range, the best I can do it narrow it down to a pre-ceramic sub or SD of some variety. There's no other watch that I've worn that I enjoy more.

Re: one watch
I've fallen back on the SKX many times and it's always a solid choice. I may pick up a 009 at some point because it doesn't seem right now not having one. These days if I was hard up I'd go with the Scurfa. With it being given to me it's on permanent cannot be sold status and it works for most situations. I'd hate to part with the SARX for many reasons of course though and beyond that it works much better as an all rounder than I expected and to me seems like beyond divers, this is the traditional look Seiko is best known for.Henryj wrote:I have an SKX007 on a tungchoy super oyster.
