Let the douchey couple have their douchey day in douche court; it's still a nice watch.
Well, that's different. It's THE knife to have.

Earlier in the week, Ben published a very well written article on the Patek 2526, which he also happens to own. IMO, it was a great read. Then this, where he and Mayer are congratulating each for somehow receiving these before others like it was unexpected. John's a douche, but Ben is better than this. Someone needs to right his ship before it sinks.

I like watches but it's a fucking watch. Those fucktards need perspective.

Awful. I'm mad at myself for reading it. Love the watch, but that was terrible.

I've been pretty public about my skepticism of their future as the go-to resource for watch journalism when they launched the Hodinkee Shop and recent articles that reek of self-promotion further affirm their lack of journalistic integrity. Unfortunately, their claws are so deep in the watch enthusiast/collector world that it's hard to write them off and go for another alternative (i.e. Ariel Adams - yeah...right).

Money and greed always destroys the hobby.

Honestly, the whole "watch culture" thing will fizzle when all the well-to-do know nothings move on to something else. I love watches, but all the bullshit that people have created around them makes me want to barf. This is the only watch forum I enjoy, and it's because watches are only the tertiary focus of most posts.

The thought of reading watch articles, is not appealing to me - at all.

Have you ever beat off with a VJ7750 on your wrist? It's like having your own dick vibrator.

And then a funny thing happened - lucky few got a phone call from their local AD's this week.

It's a great looking watch but the more I look at it the more I like the older 116520 a cunt hair more.
