This.
Indeed. This is richemont sending a memo saying "focus groups want smaller watches, so make smaller watches". These brands have zero say in what gets made.
Right except 45mm is not small. So either focus groups are chosen incorrectly or there are no focus groups.
oh well, i got the pams I wanted, just waiting for a smaller 422 and 389
SmallER, meaning lesser in some dimension of size - such as thickness.

I didn't know that so many members here had toothpick size wrists. Well, this FNG with a now "old school" PAM 422 learned something new today. Does it look thinner from this angle? LOL

The 422 is awesome but too big for my taste. I used to wear 47mm PAMs but got tired of oversized watches with too long lugs. And I don't have toothpicks. 47 with long lugs is too big for most anyone.

56.8mm lug to lug is a hard length for most wrists to pull off. \_(ツ)_/¯

I can wear 47mm Panerai, but I like 44 better. The 47 looks terrible on most people, even if they don't realize it.

I may be one of those people in denial, but I think the PAM 372 fits my 7" wrist - just. If it were any bigger I think it would be too big.

There's no denying that it's a big watch and you need the build for it, but it has a flat caseback and sits close to the wrist so it is surprisingly comfortable to wear. It's also gorgeous to look at IMHO.

30m water resistance, spring bars, $10k+ in steel. No thanks.

Miss my 422 but was a lil big for everyday wear and I don't like watches I can't wear every day.
Here's on my 7.875 wrist

Image

By the way 45x10 with 53mm l2l most likely wears like shit on most wrists

Well, I think it looks perfect on you

I don't wear mine every day either - but then again I have several watches and if I wore any one of them every day I'd have a lot of unworn watches sitting around ;)

You're in denial. JK, it looks fine. At one time my entire collection consisted of a 127, 217, 232, and 249. I had a 000 as my "small" watch, but never wore it. My wrist is also 7". I thought they were fine, and one day I saw my reflection in my car window and realized they looked gigantic! Gradually sold all of them. You at least have a big variety of different watches, so the 372 is a fun change of pace. For me it was every day, and it was too much.

Should have said any day regardless of attire or what I'll be doing. 422 was "in your face" most of the time, at least how I felt :)

Here is a 44 on me. Try to ignore the dog with the jester collar.

That was a seriously good collection of PAMs. I still kick myself for not buying a 232 that I tried on at an AD when they first came out, but I didn't have the $$$ at the time :crybaby:

Despite the company's missteps and the monotony of their collection I am still a fan of the brand, but only care to own a small number of 'historic' pieces.

The 44mm looks great, but you could easily pull off 47mm.

Understand. It's not a piece I'd wear to anytime/anywhere either, but it's nice to put it on for the right occasion.

Truth.

I love my 47mm PAM - even the one with spring bars. And I don't care if they look ridiculous or not. Because they are, and I'm ok with that.

And you could totally wear a bigger dog.

44mm works great on me , looks great on Chris.
47 is a statemen, 44 works on most people unless you're Jacob with 5.5 inch wrists

Clyde thinks he's a full size dog. I don't have the heart to tell him otherwise.
