Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
It's a really cool watch. I don't follow Omega too much, are they really that hard to get? I vaguely remember a thread on this not too long ago.

Re: Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
7k seems pretty crazy. Is it a standard (e.g., cheap) speedy with a different bezel, dial, and hands or is it one of the 9300 models?
Re: Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
It's a standard Speedy with white dial and all the snoopy jazz + liquid metal bezel insert, IIRC, instead of aluminium.
I'd like it but not 2x MSRP

Re: Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
It's not a $14k watch. Especially from him lmao.
Re: Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
I like the list of watches he'll trade it towards.

Re: Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
I wouldn't pay that but from what I gather Omega didn't make enough of them.
This was a semi-limited edition, but....
price will come WAY back down over the coming year or so. Fun watch, and I like it quite a bit, but my guess is that it's back at $7k or lower within 2 years.
We'll see......

Love the watch, but not that much.

Don't forget, boys, the Dark Side was a $12k watch when it first arrived too .

True, but $12K was the MSRP.blkgsl wrote:Don't forget, boys, the Dark Side was a $12k watch when it first arrived too .

I guess my joke was too subtle.
It had better because in two years Omega collectors will need to be checking the seat cushions for 50th anniversary Apollo 11 coin. My guess is 18kt on that one but I hope not.dmgreen11 wrote:price will come WAY back down over the coming year or so. I sometimes just don't get Omega.

And on today's secondary market, ~7k.logan2z wrote:True, but $12K was the MSRP.blkgsl wrote:Don't forget, boys, the Dark Side was a $12k watch when it first arrived too .

Prices on the 45th Anniversary watches are still very high.

Yep. Which is why I mention the 50th will be the one to have. It's only 3 years away.
I think the snoopy will maintain a decent value. x2 MSRP? Never.
You can't compare the DSOM to the long list of Professional LEs. Some are very sought after and all maintain good value compared to the 3570.50. Look at the 3593.20. Hell, I've considered selling a couple and waiting for an Apollo Soyuz which is the best LE in my eyes.
If I were made of money rest assured I'd be after every Speedy LE and significant reference I could get my hands on instead of considering Patek. It's my favorite watch and the collector market for these in a position to buy them up is very real.

The Soyuz is great. There are tons of shit Speedy LEs and a few good ones. The snoopy is a good one.

Re: Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
I admit I may be the outlier here, but I just can't do a watch with a cartoon character on the dial. That said, two years from now I'll probably suddenly "get it" and be trawling the net looking for one.JP Chestnut wrote:The Soyuz is great. There are tons of shit Speedy LEs and a few good ones. Re: Silver Snoopy at 2x retail?
I'd never buy it, but let's be honest - Omega sets a really low bar with the LEs. That one with the coin for a dial? That's bad. Compared to that, a little snoopy on the dial I can overlook. The LM bezel is pretty cool on a normal (not 9300) speedy.
Even if you hate the snoopy watch, it's clearly at least in the middle of the speedy LE crappiness distribution.
On edit : the moon to Mars one is pretty as well.
