Those really blur the "homage" line IMO. And really, an 857?

As long as you're paying them, they'll cover anything. I find myself reading these blogs less and less

Pretty blatant copy. The only good news is that these companies almost always make an homage that looks worse than the original, and that seems true here as well.Chocodove wrote:Those really blur the "homage" line IMO. And really, an 857?

How's that different than so many other companies?

It's not and they all suck. Some like to give a free pass to those "homages" that are of unobtainium watches like mil subs.jeckyll wrote:How's that different than so many other companies?

I guess I should have left my comment at, "It's not and they all suck."jeckyll wrote:Like me.Minordamage wrote:It's not and they all suck. Some like to give a free pass to those "homages" that are of unobtainium watches like mil subs.jeckyll wrote:How's that different than so many other companies?
I did the homage thing when I started out in watches. I then came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to penalize the companies with original designs when the bandwagon comes along and blatantly rips them off. It's hard to figure out how they get away with it in most countries - China excluded as they don't care about anyones' intellectual property. I hope they all get sued and die a lengthy judicial and monetary penalty death. It's amazing how we have two guys on this board that can produce their own designs and so many can't even depart from the design of the hands when copying a watch.

That's obviously not a homage, it was designed in Italy. And named after a disease.toxicavenger wrote:http://www.thedivewatchconnection.com/f ... hilit=Huey

Well, at least they were accurate in the statement "hoc erat in votis" which means "this was my wish". I guess they were wishing they could afford a Sub?
