For those of you who've had both the skx and the newer srp. If you had to pick one which would it be? Trying to decide if I want another 007 or go for for the 777. 007 on jubilee is hard to beat, also kind of hard to find at the moment.

Had both, SKX is gone in favor of the SRP. In fact, the 777 might just push my 6309 out the door too.

Without owning the SRP yet- being shipped- I don't see how it's much of choice. I guess it comes down to spending $180 or $340.
For me I'd much rather have a cushion case and hack/hand wind movement.

SRP hands down, even considering the minimal extra cost. I love the SKX and always will, but the SRP really is a worthwhile step up IMO. As Ben said the movement and case is far superior for only a little more money.

The SRP jams, but too big for my wrist. I picked up another SKX this weekend.

No contest between SRP and SKX. If I had a financial crisis I could very happily sell everything and live with the SRP as my only watch. I never felt that way about the SKX. I think j owned mine for a month before I got bored with it.

I agree with you 100% Todd. The SKX007 is a fantastic bargain and with a super Jubilee it's "the bomb'!!! I've owned 3 or 4 of 'em and got more of the "is that a Rolex?" comments with it than with any other watch. For me they just seem to run a little small for my 8" wrists...

This has turned into a great thread with a lot of excellent information and input.

I have a SRP775 coming this week which will also go to Duarte for a domed sapphire and black day/date wheel. I will probably leave it on the bracelet to start and then try it on a Hirsch Pure or alike. I thought my modded 007 would be my beater but I must say, it's so nice looking I'm feeling like I want to protect it instead of beat on it!

Might use the Orient as the beater. Nice problem to have I suppose!

Having owned a SKX173 for 18 years I really love that case for my wrist. Also have several other SKX's I'm fond of. Recently got the SRP775 and like it a lot. Tough choice for me. As far as movements go, hacking and winding is a little overrated in my book. Maybe I'm just used to them, but I find it easier to set the SKX's to the second, shake and go. They have also been more accurate than both the 4R36 and 6R15 movements I have.

Okay here is a "shill" but besides a BC flat vent strap I think my ToxicRUBBERS work the best on the SKX. The Iso seems to thick for it.

The NY0040 is a great alternative to the SKX

Just googled, not seen that one before. Is that the same case as the one above? It looks much more bulbous in the pics I've just googled?

Lighter and it seemed to fit flatter on the wrist.
