Some things still surprise me. "Let's buy a brand new watch that looks like it was rusting in a cave for 40 years. We will be the cats ass then. "

Unreal.

....or let's buy a watch worn by German pilots in WW2.... because I'd like to see what the pilot was wearing when he was bombing his enemy..

Looks like a movie prop watch. I don't see the point.

Hipsters will buy it for the fake air of authenticity. Then they'll toss it in the back of a drawer because the battery died after two days.

And then hopefully their fathers or grandfathers will smack them upside the head and lock them up in their garage with garage doors closed and both cars running for 5 minutes, you know to give them that "fake air of authenticity"

Wonder what their marketing pitch is going to be? When you put this on your wrist you immediately transform into Uber Zoldaten who Killed 500 Jews while wearing this watch on his wrist? Just dumb, while all other german-made watches with WW2 history are trying to erase their dirty past this one is like asking for it. Next thing will be: Audi - one of the rings represent Hitler's favorite automobile Horch

I wonder if the 'missing' pieces are floating around in the dial? That would be some real authenticity ;)

It seems that the Laco designers are perusing the different forums for ideas...

I have seen some such modified watches and kind of find them interesting although not really something I would buy or wear...

Perfect. And maybe some floating around in the movement. So you can get both the look and maintenance issues of vintage.

IWC became a lot less appealing to me when they went away from the RAF style pilot's watches, and embraced der fuhrer's favorite design.
