Good Day Hiking

Post by rockmastermike » Sun Mar 06, 2016 3:38 pm

Went to Providence Canyon State Park this weekend. Also know locally as the "Little Grand Canyon" we hiked around the outer rim looking down into the canyon, broke for lunch and then hiked down to the canyon floor for the opposite view.

4 hours later we were tired but had a great time. The Aerospace Evo was along for the day

Looks like a great day. What's the story with the car?

That's awesome. Wish we had some of that closer to home.

Thanks, it was about an hour drive of where we are but worth the trip.

Todd - story goes it was an old homestead back in the day but when it became a State Park they decided that removing them would do more harm to the environment than keeping them there.

Nice. We have a park somewhat near me in the Hudson (River) Highlands and there are a couple older junk cars along the trails for much the same reason. That one looks to be significantly older, however. Always neat to see a little history along with nature. Thanks for sharing.

That's a great day Mike. Some of my favorite vacations are spent hiking through State Parks with the family. Spring break will be spent hiking around the Big Island in Hawaii. Can't wait.

Even the youngest had a good time - it was a minor miracle to get him away from the x-box.

Patrick - Big Island sounds amazing.
