That's great news. Glad it looks to be sorted. Joma is a good company imo.

Jomashop repairs?

So far they seem great. Not to mention I chose the free shipping option yesterday afternoon when I ordered the Alpina and it was at my desk by 10am this morning.

My Chronosport UDT did this once. New stem fixed it right up. Good luck!

"Not covered under warranty but send it in and we'll look again". Another $50 shipping for them not to fix it. So my watchmaker is fixing it and also brushing the case and bracelet for me. Lesson learned.

Sounds like you made the right choice, but how is Joma now claiming it isn't covered under warranty when they said it was the first time?

They said it was a "courtesy" and that they "didn't find anything wrong the first time". Apparently it's common practice to replace gaskets as a courtesy. Oh well.

They gave you the opportunity to pay for sent it in so they could visually inspect it, claim there was nothing wrong, and NOT actually fix the problem. What great customer service!

AND not tell me that they didn't find anything wrong. Gotta love it.

Me too! I left the sides of the case and bracelet polished "a la Submariner". Can't wait to see it.

That suxs, I think I would slam Jomas online over that if you havent' already. The perfect title would be "Jomas HAS NO warranty"

I haven't read the Joma warranty, but clearly there's a problem with the seal of the watch, be it the crown or one of the gaskets. How is a leaky watch not covered under warranty?

Just hearing this is enough to make me never buy from them.

I've also learned my lesson after my latest tour of duty on the "graymarket" front lines.

This is the one year anniversary of my purchase of an Orient Star from CreationWatches. Great price, fast shipping. But the watch was a dog - bad canon pin. Minute hand slipped like crazy, local watchmaker demurred as it needed an Orient part. Mailed it back for repair in February 2015. Came back in September. SEPTEMBER! Still broken. I asked for a refund, exchange, credit, ANYTHING. They refused. Had to send it back again. Still waiting on it - one year later. I think Claire Danes and Kate Beckinsale are working on it from the "Brokedown Palace" watch repair depot in Singapore.

I will sooner get dragged naked over broken glass behind a horse with IBS than order another graymarket automatic. From overseas? No way. The cost savings just isn't worth the hassle if something goes wrong.

They offer a lower price, but the trade off is service. I'd rather find an AD to discount and know I'm covered, so I'll only buy cheap stuff from these third-party outfits.
