Just a heads up in case you didn't notice centinel will only insure USPS priority up to 500 and express up to 1000toxicavenger wrote:Thanks for this heads up Zack, I just did this yesterday because the USPS annex is right around the corner for me. Which makes more sense then driving 8 miles to the FedEx.blkgsl wrote:Best part is, you can still use USPS for shipping and cgi for only the insurance portion. Half of you have gotten USPS packages from me with the standard < $100 USPS insurance, it doesn't mean the packages are only insured for under $100 .

Just a follow up.
Art managed to get me a ton of fedex boxes within 2 days. All the S2, M2, L2,padded paks, and shipping label pouches I could handle.
Centinel CS is off the charts.

Mine shipped out on Monday as well. 20 of each box and 50 padded pouches. I should be good for a while
Re: Save money on all your insured shipping costs with CGI!
damn. you guys have way more watch shipping needs than me.
Re: Save money on all your insured shipping costs with CGI!
Been a CGI member since last year, and in general, I love it. Their shipping platform has a couple of technical quirks that need to be worked out, mainly there is no option to select FedEx 2Day A.M. shipping, and some of their policies are inconsistent with the shipping platform.
Also, some people mentioned using Jewel Systems. Interesting fact is Jewel Systems sued CGI since CGI was started by a bunch of ex-employees, and JS alleged that CGI stole their platform:

So, there is a limit for insurance with USPS?

I believe the limit for Priority is $5k.andrema wrote:So, there is a limit for insurance with USPS?

That's incorrect. Spoke to Art about this the other day since they had inaccurate figures posted on their site, which have since been updated. Priority Mail limit is $500; Express Mail limit is $1000.Chocodove wrote:I believe the limit for Priority is $5k.andrema wrote:So, there is a limit for insurance with USPS?

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. I meant if you actually shipped from a PO using USPS insurance.Vig2000 wrote:That's incorrect. I assume that there is a much higher limit with FedEx and UPS...Vig2000 wrote:That's incorrect. I use their extra insurance on my USPS packages with no issues. I will start using FedEx for higher valued items but the FedEx is no where near my location.

I also used their USPS insurance only option twice now to insure $300 packages. It should cost a nominal value but funny thing is I don't see any charge on my credit card still.

It can take some time before they bill you; you'll eventually get an invoice.blowfish89 wrote:I also used their USPS insurance only option twice now to insure $300 packages. It should cost a nominal value but funny thing is I don't see any charge on my credit card still.
Also, their USPS limits used to be much higher: $10,000 for Priority, and $50,000 for Express. They also used to insure USPS First Class up to $1,000.

Just signed up for this last week and sending a package tomorrow. Got a price of $49.60 from CGI versus $120.60 direct from Fedex for express overnight.

I've used these guys since Wu introduced them, both for watches and other high cost gear, and they're great.
