A nice look at Zodiac's Super Sea Wolf 68

Post by AtomicTom » Mon Nov 23, 2015 11:05 am

Remember seeing the new Super Sea Wolf not too long ago everyone?

Just saw that A Blog to Watch has a really nice look at the watch now. They give you a terrific up close view of the watch, and just how similar, yet different it is from the original. They also mention how comfortable the case is, the improved 1000m water resistance, and also "safety' system the bezel has.

You even hear about a COSC Chronometer model that's available. :o

A Blog to Watch with the review guys...

Love what they are doing, but if I was sending one to be examined and photographed, I would have not sent one with a buggered inner chapter ring...

Very nice. Similar style to Helson Tortuga.
What watch is the originator of this case style?

This case was used by Blancspain, Zenith, Edox, Royce, Nivada and a few other watch companies. Squale may have been the maker.

Brian, wasn't Zodiac the maker? At that time they were OEMing for a few people. They even OEM'd for Heuer.

Yes, Squale made the cases for all of them. They made both their 500 and 1000m cases for other companies before releasing Squale branded watches. The Kodiak case is slightly different, and I'm not sure which came out first, although I suspect it was Squale.
