Oris Sixty-Five
I haven't had much interest in watches for the past couple of years. Honestly, the Rolex GMT Master and the Sea Dweller just hit all the spots for me. But I just saw this 2015 reissue and man, it got some tingling in my nether region. It's got a LOT of the things I look for in a watch.
1. Size = 40mm
2. Diver (actually 100m w/r like the original)
3. Vintage look
4. Looks awesome on the OEM Tropic
5. Domed sapphire crystal
6. Under 2k
7. Swiss auto
I may actually get this.

It's always good to have an enjoyable tingling in the nether region

I love the look of the watch, I still question the 100 meter water resistance.

As much as I try, I cannot think of a single instance where a 100m WR would not be enough.
Re: Oris Sixty-Five
I love this watch. Maybe slightly more than the BBB. And I wish it had more WR. And, yes, I'm a certified desk diver.
Re: Oris Sixty-Five
Why is the font of the 12-3-6-9 numerals so strange? The "2" in the "12" is especially odd looking with the wavy diagonal.

The Oris makes me tingle too. So does that pic, but the 65 is affordable...

Re: Oris Sixty-Five
Not sure why they chose this font for the original, but this recent release is a reissue of a watch that Oris put out in 1965. Curiously there's even more 'patina' on the reissuejeckyll wrote:Pretty damn close.logan2z wrote:Not sure why they chose this font for the original, but this recent release is a reissue of a watch that Oris put out in 1965. I like the date placement on the re-issue.
Re: Oris Sixty-Five
It's nice looking. I'd wear one.
Oris Sixty-Five
This is a killer watch. Wasnt crazy about it at first but it quickly grew on me. It's like the B+R 123 GMT Brice has. Nothing over the top, but simple clean retro elegance all the way through

Re: Oris Sixty-Five
It's a neat watch but I bet you'd flip that watch in a month..
Re: Oris Sixty-Five
it's OK looking.
i wouldn't pick this over the BBB though...not even close.
YMMV.
ps. look at the first photo, why does the crown look so corroded/old?

Maybe they were going for a vintage-look crown At least it doesn't come with a 'distressed' case.Denizen wrote: ps. look at the first photo, why does the crown look so corroded/old?

Honestly, its just a good looking everyday watch. The way they were intended to be.

For less than 2k, I'd be very tempted to get to get myself one too.
