Re: New REsco model - Kauffman
They should just stick that date window right in the center of the dial - it's already half way there.

Yup--Draper Kauffman...
After being forced out of the Navy, Draper became a crew member on a New York-based steamship, and soon found himself overseas in Germany, just as Hitler was forging the country into what the world would soon see in the 1940s. When Germany declared war on the rest of Europe, Draper volunteered in France as an ambulance driver, was captured briefly and held by the Germans at Luneville. He was set free as Germany was not at war with America, and went on to serve as an officer in the British Navy, where he became experienced in demolitions as a bomb disposal officer for the British.
edit-- get rid of date on the dial..

I agree, Odd date placementJP Chestnut wrote:They should just stick that date window right in the center of the dial - it's already half way there.
Re: New REsco model - Kauffman
I'm not seeing specs, but that ugly (Koboldesqe?) date placement suggests this is the larger Resco that Nicole said was coming "eventually".
It's fugly.

Re: New REsco model - Kauffman
Not feeling this. Too derivative, and the date window placement is a disaster.

Re: New REsco model - Kauffman
I realize that these small watch places can't produce movements that fit their huge cases. Given that, they have three options
1) Stick a stupid ugly date on it
2) Skip the date
3) Use more reasonable case sizes
For some reason, the worst option is the most popular.

Liking these Kempo !!!
They seem kind of understated, and reserved at first, but then you appreciate
the hidden aggression, and attitude they have. ..First time seeing these
Kempo. So thanks a lot ! ..Thanks a lot for the extra info here also Paul !

Awful date placement and T Rex hands on the SS case. The hands on the black one look fine.

That one is not doing it for me.

The black one looks cool but I agree about the date aperture. Too far inboard. The SS version looks a bit of soup sandwich IMO.

The watch just went live on their site. I like several of the dial options.

Yep
I've never owned one of his watches, but I vouch for the guy being the real deal, Navy wise
I know a few guys that own his watches and have had problems with them, but he always makes it right

I love the look of this one, and the size is right. Price is stupid for a watch with a Chinese movement.

Re: New REsco model - Kauffman
Yes. Drop a Soprod inside, offer a no-date, then price it at $1695. Then I'd be interested.
Re: New REsco model - Kauffman
This is going to sound incredibly disrespectful, but I really don't mean it to be. If this watch was produced by anyone who wasn't a Navy SEAL it would be a $1000.00 watch.hoppyjr wrote:Yes. Drop a Soprod inside, offer a no-date, then price it at $1695. Then I'd be interested.

The white dial version looks really good.

Not disrespectful at all IMO. You are correct, as usual.CGSshorty wrote:This is going to sound incredibly disrespectful, but I really don't mean it to be.
