Yeah but he was backed up and the watch was out of warranty. So I contacted Marathon and got a whole crown assembly (they were great to deal with and they actually gave me the whole set for free but normally it is $25). What had happened it seemed is the actual tube had been leaking (maybe bad gasket) and it corroded the stem which eventually broke from all the rust. I found a local watchmaker (1 of the only real watchmakers in town and runs the local NAWCC) who has a amazing bench stock of watch parts. He replaced the watch with a new movement, new gaskets and stem crown assembly for $85. Also pressure tested and cleaned all the rust out of the case which we thought might be an issue since it had been rusting for some time.

Either way I am just glad to get it back so Joe can enjoy it some more.

Oh and not to mention Joe also sent me a really cool watch book!!!! Thanks again Joe.

Yeah, sure Terry's being all cool and going out of his way to help a fellow DWC'er, but Where T F is the black date wheel? Pussies.

Nah, just kidding: the watch looks awesome, and Terry is the very example of "DWC rocks".

Well done!
