I've been back and forth about making a serious run at one of these, the dials are stunning but I have my doubts about the bezel. Just looks like painted on numerals that will eventually scratch off. If there was a bezel with "engraved" numerals then it would be a sure thing. Something along the lines of this...

Thanks Tom, Darren, Terry, David, and Gary.

Day 6 of 7:

Tried to surf fish with my oldest today even though the surf was extremely rough. We got some nibbles, but then again we were going for big fish. We were using size 7-0 circle hooks.

Relaxation time after a full day at the beach and pool.

David, regardless of the weather, you'll still have a great time!

Beautiful watch David.

Is that a Penn 704Z on a customer built rod, nice setup. How do you like those aluminum sand spikes? Been thinking about getting one when my PVC ones wear out.

MOTE is the best. We go there every time we are in town.

This is a little gem for sure. My boys, 8 and 5, wife, and I had a blast. Real neat aquarium. We ended up getting a family annual pass.

Hello Rob,

The aluminum spikes were purchased from Bass Pro. They are the best, IMO. You can adjust the butt part to accommodate for any length rod handle.

The rod is from Daiwa. It is a Saltiga Inteline rod:

I have the SABS 35-405I XH F 13'3''

http://www.daiwa.com/rod/detail.aspx?id=272

The reel was imported from Australia:

DAIWA S Extreme Maverick 4500H

I love this setup.

Thanks Gerald, I have one rod that's 13', mostly here in the NE we use 10-11' for the surf but our beaches are fairly steep. Nice setup though, that newer equipment weighs a lot less than my stuff. Enjoy the rest of your vacation, looks like a great time.
