That's cool! I remember my parents letting me stay up and watch the moon landing that night. Very grainy picture on the TV, but at least got to watch it live. I had just turned 10 so yes I'm an old fucker.

I was eleven years old when they landed on the moon was on vacation at clear lake remember watching it on TV live the film they used was black and white so if you were lucky to have a color TV black and white TV was still used since not every body at the time could not afford a color TV we all saw it in black and white. Here is my Omega Speedmaster Cir 1972 made when we were still landing on the moon.

Back in the 1960's starting with the mercury space program, Gemini, then Apollo it was a BIG thing when ever they had one in space every body was glued to the TV now if we have some thing in space no body pays attention only time they pay attention is like the challenger accident then people watch kind of sad how space flight lost it's luster when kids use to dream about being a astronaut I did when I was a kid use to have a scrap book with news cutting out of news papers from Mercury all the way to Apollo I guess it lost it's luster through the years.

This is sad when we can't use tax dollars to save Armstrong's space suit he used on the moon this is like playing a instrument on the street with a can to through money in.

I saved this old newspaper from the day after the moon landing. Was really into it as a 10 year old. This is a shot of the front page. Couple weeks later first color photos came out, which is 2nd pic.

This day is my birthday. My mom was in the throes of late stage labor. A nurse happened to come in an see how far along she was and had to search for the doctor and other nurses. They were all out watching the TV coverage. True story...

When I graduated my MBA it was four days from my wedding anniversary. My wife surprised me with a Speedmaster Pro.

July was a good month. Mine was the 18th. Sounds like our parents celebrated Halloween in more ways than one.:)

Great stuff. I wasn't yet around, but I feel a connection to that day in '69. Years ago, my dad gave me a copy of that day's NYT, which I need to have framed.

I'd been married for just over one year to Wife#1. We watched everything: the orbiting of the Moon, the lander separating, the landing, and the Scott Armstrong 'moment.' The sense of wonder, awe, and accomplishment couldn't be expressed in words!
