So I try to sell/trade my oris tubbataha

Post by Manu » Sun May 31, 2015 4:58 am

I recieve like 4 trade offers from different guys trying to trade their MKII...I'm like fuck off I'm not trading an Oris for a freaking rolex replica!!

One guy even have the balls to say this and I quote "hey you want to trade your oris tubbataha for my MKII seafighter plus 600$ on your side?
My response and I quote "fuck you" who are this people?

Anyway I end it up trading the oris to a guy in Italy for a eterna super kontiki
I'll post pics later

You got balls taking a trade from Italy. I won't even buy something from there using Paypal.

What's the matter if the guy has extensive feedback?
Some honest people do exist in Italy :)

Between a multiple feedback guy in India (one of the world's most corrupt countries) and a zero feedback American I would choose the former any day.

I usually deal conus only because of shipping headaches (in the U.S. I can ship with my employer's fedex account and pay them back, making it cheaper and super convenient), but for something hard to find/specific/etc I wouldn't mind dealing with any specific country if solid feedback is there.
It's not Italians, in general, I don't trust. It's Italian postal and customs workers I don't trust.

This is exactly the issue. So many packages get raided or flat out go missing when they hit the Italian postal system.

I haven't dealt with Italian postal service but have made several purchases / sales overseas. All but one were bump free. There are friendly people world wide who enjoy watches.
The bump was resolved thankfully through PayPal dispute. Issue was the individual, not the postal service. I can fish that feedback off WUS and post it here for reference.

I really trust fedex even know they will overcharge sometimes, 2 years ago I sold a glycine watch to a fellow in Venezuela the buyer even send me 30$ dollars extra, he told me to put the 30$ dollars inside the watch box with a note that say "para aduana" or for customs lol.. I send the watch via fedex and the buyer was even surprise to see the box unopened and the money still inside.

keep this in mind.... say what you want about MKII -- it's an east brand to flip and hold value or make a few $$$$

The problem with MKII isn't the watches. Those are usually nice looking, well proportioned, and... well copied.

The problem is with the operation, the fact that they are copies and all the red tape...

 So funny Manu ! ..Sounds like you got a really nice deal there. I know you'll miss
the Oris, but that Eterna should be something special too.

Congratulations to you ahead of time, and thanks for the laugh once again.

If he's sending it with TNT it should be fine, they are a well know courier and probably use their own customs department. Looking forward to pics once your watch arrives
