Intro - Seppia
Re: Intro - Seppia
Welcome Andrea, great job with that Casio post.
Re: Intro - Seppia
Welcome to DWC. Nice intro.
Re: Intro - Seppia
Welcome. To address your question, I would get the Sea Dweller. I have twice owned a 14060 and currently own a 16600. I have also owned the 114060 twice and a pair of date subs. Of those, I prefer the 16600. My preferences mainly have to do with aesthetics and the fact it is less common, like a 14060, as compared to a date Sub variant.Seppia wrote:Hello gents
Not sure if this post is redundant but just wanted to quickly introduce myself to the community here.
I have been on WUS for a while, and it was the only watch forum I knew, till my post on diving with a $15 Casio (on WUS) got noticed here and mattcantwin invited me via PM.
I am happy to be here (many familiar faces I see) and hope to blend in seamlessly.
Quick basic info on me:
I am Italian, lived 10 years in France (Paris and the south and now live in NYC since 2010.
I have a beautiful, charming, smart wife that somehow is still with me after 4 years of marriage despite being clearly too good for me.
I love nature, so hiking/traveling and am an avid scuba diver.
Watch wise, I have just offloaded a few pieces to fund my first Rolex.
I am still trying to understand if I want a 14060m or a 16600 with lug holes.
Pro 14060m:
- thinner
- no date (it's a pro for me )
Against 14060m:
- bracelet with no SEL?
- even if the no date is less common, everybody seems to have a submariner
Pro 16600:
- more unique/different
- bracelet with SEL
Against 16600:
- date
- thicker
Any recommendations welcome obviously
I guess what will happen is that I will pick up the first that comes up available and satisfies my very anal conditions (unpolished/very lightly polished, full set, excellent condition).
Obviously if you see one feel free to point me in the right direction
Thanks again everybody and love poking forward to participating in this forum!

Welcome. Wish I could help you out with your Rolex delima. I have a 14060M and love it but have never owned the Seadweller.

Hey man welcome.
Good to have another Italian/French dude around, aside from Bruce and Brice and Pat.
I'm with you on 14060m. Not a fan of the hollow end links.
But that trumps the date so I'd still go with that.

Welcome, I recognize you from WUS Andrea...
As for your dilemma, I recently got a 14060 and am really happy with it. I partly love it b/c I think it's the best Sub there is to wear on straps, which I like to do. Don't mind the bracelet nearly as much as I thought I might after having worn it though. No bad choice between those two though, good luck either way!
Cheers,
Anthony

A two line 14060M on NATO has a certain appeal.
only accurate watches are interesting

Glad you decided to act on the invitation.
However, I invited someone else the same day and she has yet to respond.
