Let's see your diver's with special hands

Post by River Rat » Mon Jul 05, 2010 8:14 am

I have all ways look for diver's that got hands that are just differnt and better looking than what on most diver's watches. On most they just look the same. But some brands go out of there way and put a better set of hands on there watches that just make them special and what make the watch look so good. Now I want to see the diver that has your favorite set of hands on your's.I will start it out with two of mine.I just got this Eterna Kontiki Super I just like the floating hands as they are called the hour hand is painted black on a section of it to make it look like it's floating. The other is my Tudor with snowflake hands and that give's this model it's name the Tudor Snowflake also like the second hands on the snowflake and the Eterna. Now let's see your favorite hands.

Cool post Mike.

So far, my favorite hand set is on the Omega PO, which seems to be either love or hate with these. Absolutely one of the most legible, at-a-glance handsets I've seen and given the beveled edges, they catch light at different angles, adding to their legibility against the dial.

YOu mentioned the "floating" hands feature on the Eterna. Reminds me of the seconds hand and GMT hand on my Trimix - painted black, they blend in so well with the dial that they disappear, leaving just the yellow outlined GMT hand and red box on the seconds hand just floating on the dial. Sweet. :fro:

I'm not sure whether you can make it out from these mediocre pictures, but "some brands go out of their way and put a better set of hands on their watches that just make them special" made me think of this watch.

. . . I have always liked the way Seiko combined styles on the Sawtooth, and threw a meatball on the ass-end of the second hand . . .

I've always liked sword hands for my divers. They're simple, yet elegant. And the ones on my SMP are, for me, about as good as they get.

I like the hour hand on the Rasmus (as well as the rest of the watch, too).

All my favs have been posted. I also like the Seal handset just because they fit the watch really well. Simple and get the job done. I agree with Randy on the Seiko hands-for the new Tuna they brushed them. Really cool. Meatball still on ass end though
