I was just thinking...

1- I can't wait to see one in person

2- I can't wait to see what price they go to on the Sales Forums.

I predict great gnashing of teeth among current Pelagos owners. Not just for the blue but for the movement.

Wayne, if I had the extra watch coin I'd grab a current Pelagos, and newer Blue Pelagos with the in-house movement. If I were one the current owners I wouldn't worry. J

I'm not digging the tone of the blue that they chose, especially with the color of the titanium. IMO it would have looked better in SS.

That's a pelagos I would buy if the blue in real life isn't as clownish

Maybe it looks better in person.

Jules, I wouldn't worry about it either but one-upsmanship has its effect.

"Oh, is that the new Pelagos? No? Oh, too bad. I hear the new one has a better in-house movement."

This hobby can be challenging. ;)

Yeah, if I had the old Pelagos I would feel a little slighted. The big thing for me is the 36hr pr of the old vs the 70hr of the new.

Fantastic! I want to see it in person first, but I can definitely see me flipping my black dial for the Blue.

They just ticked 2 of the right boxes with this.
I wonder about price though..

Do we know the in-house movement is going in this?

Edit: looks like both the black and blue will be using the new movement.

Am I stupid for preferring the 2824 with its easier screwdriver adjustment and serviceability? And, although I'm not a big fan of the blue, I'd be willing to bet it's better looking in person. Watch companies all seem to hire crap photo departments.

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Just noticed they added a lot of text to the dial. Not so big on that aspect - although it will help you easily tell the difference between the versions. Assume there is a price jump?
Henryj wrote:Am I stupid for preferring the 2824 with its easier screwdriver adjustment and serviceability?
If so - you will likely be able to get the old versions for a good price now. I would compare this to 8500/2500 Planet Oceans, except the 2500 offered a thinner case profile.

I expect, at least in the WIS community, that ETA movements will become the choice for hobbyists and tinkerers.

Overall I see that old man Hayek was right all along. New movements are busting out all over the place.

Better not be this low class blue.
But it's probably similar to BBB

Also does this mean that the black one will get the same movement this year?

Edit: never mind. Time to sell black Pelagos and get at least the new black Pelagos
