Zodiac's new Sea Wolf

Post by AtomicTom » Wed Mar 04, 2015 11:17 am

Anyone remember us getting an early look at Zodiac's new Sea Wolf last year? ..Now the watches
have evidently been finished. There look to be more than a few variations, and models. Some info
is that the watches have 39-40 mm stainless steel cases, sapphire crystals, exhibition case-backs,
200 meter WR, 120 click unidirectional bezels, SuperLuminova hands, and markers, 26 jewel STP
(Swiss Technology Production) Cal. 1-11 automatic movement with 44 hour power reserve, a
jubilee style bracelet, just to name some of the specifications.

Some of the variations guys...

^ The Black Bay has made an impact on more than a few watch companies.

Tom, thanks for the cool post. Those look nice. The bracelets on the finished versions look much nicer than the original pictures of this reintro.

The original Sea Wolfs had extremely legible dials - the addition of the date detracts from the look and utility of the watch in my opinion.

Otherwise, a good effort.

Some of the originals had dates, too mine does.

Is it me or is the lume on the white dial an odd lime tint? Maybe it's just how it looks on my phone.

Nope, looks that way for me too.

Maybe it is C3 lume which can look green in a rendering? At least I hope so.

Pretty cool Tom. Something cool about that lime green.

it looks a little better in the snow picture, not harshly obnoxious. but the tone is still off. especially if they're trying to be similar to the original (which looks great).

haha... i was reading one of the reviews tom posted and i don't think the author understands how dive watches work.
And even though the Sea Wolf is water resistant to 200 meters, equipped with a screw-in crown, and would probably nicely fit under a wetsuit with only 13 mm in thickness
um... "under" the wetsuit?

I love the "Black Bay" model... Pricing seems a little high for me.

I can't say that I like the dial design too much, however the case and hands are great.

Hmmm, the designs aren't tripping my trigger. And at the 39/40mm they would look like a woman's watch on my wrist.

Sorry am getting back so late on this Greg. ..Yeah, you're right sir that lume does look
kind of off. Like you're saying, it's not like the original. Had thought maybe it was just
slightly glowing in the daylight, and that's what was making it lime looking, but am not
sure now.
