Bulova Accutron ii

Post by 3cGT » Mon Feb 23, 2015 7:18 pm

Impulse purchase (damn you watch recon) landed on my
doorstep today. Pretty cool, big and shiny, light and super
comfortable on the wrist, digging the spooky second hand sweep.
Very nice transitions from brushed to polished surfaces.
All up for about $300 second hand could have done a lot worse

Cheers

Cheers guys, its retro fun. Ive taken up working in a machine (737) thats
full of sharp metal edges that are always threatening to ruin one of my
vintage pieces so thought this might be a inexpensive alternative. Rob

43mm, thats pretty big on my wrist and wears big with the dome over the inner bezel
but its not too thick so sits down really nicely a bit like a seiko 6309. Cheers

Its the middle of the afternoon here so ill look for a dark spot. On other forums the lume
was bagged as the lines are so thin they dont give much off. Ill see if I can capture it

Actually, no need to photo the lume. I found a pic on WUS. Thanks though!

I like that a lot - great pick up.
Does this have a tuning fork movement?

I don't think so. It's the quartz movement with the sweeping seconds hand, right?

I believe that it's a Bulova Precisionist movement. Quartz movement with a sweeping second hand. Cool watch - pretty darn close to the originals.

I like the hell out of that. Nice retro vibe that reflects what Bulova does best. :fro: Great pick up.

I like that strap, too. Killer.

Total win.

Rob, if you check back could you please post the size of the watch or hit us with a wrist shot? Thanks.

it's a de-tuned Precisionist to fit in a smaller case. IIRC, the Precisionist sucks the life outta batteries so the regular line has larger cases to accommodate a larger battery.

Awesome Rob ! :o Boy, these are so neat, and Bulova got all of the detail from the
vintage models just right. :excited: The case, chapter ring, and orange are just THE best
here ! Plus with it being brand new, you won't have to worry about taking the watch
to be serviced, or repaired. This is going to be turning some heads sir !

Congratulations on picking this one up. Looks great !!!
