The 12 minute mark
I decided to give the DC-67 another extended stay on the wrist.
It "seemed" to be working well the first couple of times, but maybe I just didn't look closely enough.
Running the chrono, I noticed the minute hand out of synch with the dial.
(starts out fine the first few minutes and then slips a bit after advancing)
This watch just continues to stand out as the exception to German watchmaking precision.

Re: The 12 minute mark
It's my biggest pet peeve with mechanical chronos which seems to happen quite often the 1861 in that the hour hand sits just to the right of the 12 in a lot I've seen (and owned). A lot of people say it's normal with the 1861 but for that kind of money should be perfect IMHO.
I'd be upset too if I were you... The prospect of sticking strictly with quartz chronos or possibly looking into the Astron has crossed my mind many times before.

Re: The 12 minute mark
So Matt, is that actually the movement that is off, or could it be the dial that is off?
Re: The 12 minute mark
This sucks! Sorry to hear it my friend.

Some of the times the dial feet can break which allows the dial to move during operation.Joeprez wrote:Not sure if this was a serious comment or not, but I lol'd.AtomicTom wrote:So Matt, is that actually the movement that is off, or could it be the dial that is off?

Matt I would send that watch to ABC Watch Werks and let me them look at it if it was me.

Re: The 12 minute mark
Believe it or not, Tom, the dial was already replaced on the watch because the regular minute hand was way out of synch.AtomicTom wrote:So Matt, is that actually the movement that is off, or could it be the dial that is off?
The watch is just a bit cursed.
It is back on the money by 20 minutes or so, probably sooner.

Re: The 12 minute mark
Good advice, but at this point, I am just going to wait until it totally crashes before sending it out again.toxicavenger wrote:Some of the times the dial feet can break which allows the dial to move during operation.Joeprez wrote:Not sure if this was a serious comment or not, but I lol'd.AtomicTom wrote:So Matt, is that actually the movement that is off, or could it be the dial that is off?

At least the lume dial functions well.

You just don't want to wait to long and have the hands get scratched or scratch up your dial.mattcantwin wrote:Good advice, but at this point, I am just going to wait until it totally crashes before sending it out again.toxicavenger wrote:Some of the times the dial feet can break which allows the dial to move during operation.Joeprez wrote:Not sure if this was a serious comment or not, but I lol'd.AtomicTom wrote:So Matt, is that actually the movement that is off, or could it be the dial that is off?

Re: The 12 minute mark
Definitely. I laughed due to the track record of the watch (not from Tom's comment).toxicavenger wrote:Some of the times the dial feet can break which allows the dial to move during operation.Joeprez wrote:Not sure if this was a serious comment or not, but I lol'd.AtomicTom wrote:So Matt, is that actually the movement that is off, or could it be the dial that is off?

Re: The 12 minute mark
I've seen misprinted photo-etched (?) minute track dials like that. The track is essentially warped. But not on a sub-dial. That would be very noticeable to the naked eye.mattcantwin wrote:It is back on the money by 20 minutes or so, probably sooner.
only accurate watches are interesting

Damasko = never again. They could invent the "perfect watch" but with shit service like you've experienced they will never see a dime from me.

Re: The 12 minute mark
Apparently, it is a glitch in the movement.
Hand on the minute sub-dial clicks cleanly until about 8 minutes or so, and then slides a bit after moving into place.
Eventually, it returns to the correct position.
Considering the history of the watch from day one...
it's as good as new!

Re: The 12 minute mark
This goes to prove what terrible businesspeople Damasko are. It would cost them far less to apologize and extend an offer to replace the watch than to let something like this play out on a watch enthusiast forum. I'm sure they've lost 10x the cost of the watch on DWC alonehoppyjr wrote:Damasko = never again. Strange stuff Matt. ..You wouldn't expect it with a watch like this, but hey maybe itmattcantwin wrote:Believe it or not, Tom, the dial was already replaced on the watch because the regular minute hand was way out of synch.AtomicTom wrote:So Matt, is that actually the movement that is off, or could it be the dial that is off?

will work itself out, and fix itself.
At least it makes things a little interesting right?!
Re: The 12 minute mark
I think it's a result of them actually getting cocky from years of good reviews. Well, that and the German engineering pride.logan2z wrote:This goes to prove what terrible businesspeople Damasko are.
