The placement of that date just kills this watch for me.

I kind of like it, if only because it means that the 3:00 isn't cut off.JP Chestnut wrote:The placement of that date just kills this watch for me.

It doesn't need to be 60% of the way to the edge of the dial. The BP does a much better job of placement IMO.TimelessLuxWatches wrote:I kind of like it, if only because it means that the 3:00 isn't cut off.JP Chestnut wrote:The placement of that date just kills this watch for me.

Ah, I see what you mean. That's probably necessitated by the smaller ETA 2836-2 movement. Actually, I think this has the Sellita clone, the SW220, but same concern.JP Chestnut wrote:It doesn't need to be 60% of the way to the edge of the dial. It's pretty much in line with the rest of the brand at $5,450. I can only imagine there's a premium for the Boeing steel--not sure yet if the titanium model will cost more or the same.

Excuse me while I empty my drawers. Bremont's pricing is ridiculous. yeah, I get that they decorated the heck out of that movement, but it's an ETA (or Sellita) movement for crying out loud! I can only hope that the premium price reflects the Boeing steel, which does nothing for me either. Maybe if it had an actual in-house movement, but this is a no-go at this price.
Move over Kobold - I don't get Bremont.

Re: Bremont Boeing Model 1 Review
doesnt seem crazy to be since many other brands demand similar MSRP and not in house movements so in line with many like Breitling, IWC etc...That said, I would never pay that for one......Ill wait til preowned.....WHat would be crazy is me paying that much for one.....Too many other brands at that price.....

Yep, I meant to add that part. In particular, a used Rolex SD (only because that watch keeps haunting my dreams).ericf4 wrote:doesnt seem crazy to be since many other brands demand similar MSRP and not in house movements so in line with many like Breitling, IWC etc...That said, I would never pay that for one......Ill wait til preowned.....WHat would be crazy is me paying that much for one.....Too many other brands at that price.....

They're definitely not cheap, but on the other hand, there's not a lot of options if you want a dressier watch with hardened steel. Bremont fills a niche, a small niche, but it actually does really well there.
Still, I basically agree, I would like to see them bring their proprietary movements into these watches for the same money--that would be very competitive.

True. These SD's with lug holes around 5k are killing me.

How do you guys like the photography? I had several complaints that the photos were too high-res before so I have lowered the quality to the point where they take up about 1/6th the space to make loading faster.

Re: Bremont Boeing Model 1 Review
I think the photos are technically good but it doesn't really give me a "feeling" for the watch.
The photos are exactly what I want if I'm buying the watch on a sales ad but perhaps they're not quite "moody" enough if you know what I mean?

Re: Bremont Boeing Model 1 Review
Yeah, I think I know what you're saying. There's not a lot of style to my photography. We're trying to create a very consistent method to use on every single model going forward, and unfortunately, that doesn't allow for much creative freedom when I'm shooting.
Re: Bremont Boeing Model 1 Review
Brett, this is some kind of watch ! I mean we see a lot of aviation watches, but this is REALLY an
aviation watch. Especially with that special Boeing Steel being used like that ! Guess we aren't
going to see that used in other watches. ..So cool ! Always amazes how far Bremont goes to make
their watches not only stand out, but be the best watches they can be. I mean when they do some-
thing, they do it right.
Thanks for giving us such a terrific look at,along with review of this beauty ! You know what's neat
besides the beautiful movement, case, dial, and even hard to get to crown? The way this stunner
even has a uni-directional bezel like a dive watch ! So it's an aviation watch, with some dive attitude !
Thanks once again Brett !
