WWRHYD
Thought it would be cool (if a little WUSsy) to see Which Watches R Haunting Your Dreams.
I've got three on the brain these days. The first is a watch that I originally thought too blingy for my taste but I've started to come around to, and that's the Omega DSOTM. I'd really like a ceramic watch in the collection and this is by far the best looking I've come across. Still not 100% sold on the shiny dial, but I think I could live with it. Waiting to check out the Grey version due out in February, but I think the black is super cool.
The second is also an Omega but the polar opposite in terms of color. It's the Speedmaster 57 with white dial. I really love the contrast of the blue hands against the white dial, so cool.
Finally, I've been lusting after a Heuer Monaco. I recently sold my vintage Autavia and would like a Heuer back in the collection. Vintage Monaco prices have gone through the roof and it's very difficult to find a good one for any sort of reasonable $$$. But there are a couple of Heuer-branded reissues that are really nice, and this one has really caught my attention:
The grey dial with black subdials and red accents is elegant but subdued. Besides the oblong pushers, this looks very similar to a vintage Monaco. Two problems with it: It's not a "real" Heuer (despite the branding) and it's $7200 Seriously crazy price for this watch. But I still want it

I've been getting interested in chronographs lately. An AP chrono of some kind would be really nice. So would a Breitling Navitimer and a Zenith El Primero.
I actually also really like the RGM 400 chronograph.

I really want a Heuer Siffert (and I think I finally found one to buy.... fingers crossed....)
It's really hard to avoid the impulse to do a major selloff and get a Daytona. Someday
Part of what's holding me back is that I can't pick between the silver or black dial, let alone pick between black or steel bezels.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.
Thanks for letting me play! "

"haunt" is a strong word. but there's definitely a part of me that likes this quite a bit (but on a bracelet).
Re: WWRHYD
Yep, that date was bothering me on a 3-hander, it should have been set at 3 o'clock and plots should hav been a little bigger. But, the chrono is just orgasmic and I want a ceramic watch in my collectionJoeprez wrote:Panerai7 wrote:I'm not buying another expensive watch until I can get this

I liked the three hand model more than I thought I would in person, while the chronograph was less nice than I expected.Joeprez wrote:Panerai7 wrote:I'm not buying another expensive watch until I can get this

If you've never seen the three hand in the metal, I wouldn't discount it - I really thought it was off in photos, but it was way more cohesive in person.
On edit: to answer the question, a NOS (or close) white dial Zenith Daytona will be my next big pickup.

Well, from a pricing perspective, there are Daytonas and then there are Daytonas (and then there are Paul Newman Daytonas).dshap wrote:I really want a Heuer Siffert (and I think I finally found one to buy.... fingers crossed....)

I can neither confirm nor deny that I recently sold my SD and Sub C to pick up a white dialed 116250 . But, if I had done something like that, I would say that I'm absolutely loving it.

I've been surprised that this has not been as well received by the watch community, hopefully that means I'll be able to pick it up on the used market someday more cheaply

I was eyeing that too David, but the "contact us for price" gave me adshap wrote:I really want a Heuer Siffert (and I think I finally found one to buy.... fingers crossed....)

Probably the one watch that most repeated on people's "grail" lists, for me it's the Datograph:
