Zenith Stratos Flyback Rainbow
Has anyone had one of these on the wrist? I haven't seen one at a Zenith dealer and I'm wondering how the 45mm case wears. I have a 45mm PO 2500 that works fine on my wrist but I'm not sure how the lugs of the Zenith are shaped/curved.
The black is pretty cool as well

Boutique only, LE of 250 pieces.
Re: Zenith Stratos Flyback Rainbow
I think the 2500 series PO 45mm wears more like 43mm because of the lug shape.
Re: Zenith Stratos Flyback Rainbow
It wears more like an 8500 PO than a 2500, especially on bracelet. I don't care for the black ones because they are some sort of lightweight material and they feel cheap to me.

I don't like the Stratos line at all.

They call it Tialum, some hybrid of Titanium and Aluminum. I feel the same way about very lightweight watches, but I like the look of the black.CGSshorty wrote:It wears more like an 8500 PO than a 2500, especially on bracelet. Interesting contrast in size between the re-edition and an original Rainbow:

Re: Zenith Stratos Flyback Rainbow
There's no refinement at all to it. It's a lot of busyness (hash marks everywhere) in a watch that is big for the sake of being big.logan2z wrote:What don't you like about it?matt.wu wrote:I don't like the Stratos line at all.
Personal take after wearing one.

I had the original. I thought it was too small. Wore smaller than 40mm Imo. The new one looks too big though.

I like em but they wear big. If they made it in between the new and old, I'd probably have one.

Yeah, I'm thinking that something like 43mm would be just right.ikkoku wrote:logan2z wrote:Interesting contrast in size between the re-edition and an original Rainbow:

Re: Zenith Stratos Flyback Rainbow
Hi logan2z,
I really like the original version a lot and am actually looking at trying to get one some time soon for my upcoming 55th birthday and I don't like the newer version at all as I find the dial on the new version to unbalanced and the size of the new version is too big IMO. Whilst the original version also has a much cleaner looking dial and sub dials IMO I also much prefer the crown and pushers on the older version to. I think the original version also offers great value for money as it has if not the best one of the best Automatic chronograph movements ever made being the El Primero 400 or 400Z . I am also looking at the plain Black version which is less colourful and has more of a dive watch vibe to it and lastly the De Luca version which is Daytona looking. I can't believe that picture really shows the true size difference as the new version is only 5.5mm larger than the original and in that picture it looks like its huge whilst the older version looks tiny it must be a trick of the camera or something.

Hi logan2z,
Those are two of the models I am looking at as well as the De Luca which looks more like a Daytona but unfortunately I can't look at any coming from the US or in fact outside the EU as at this price level the 20% import duty makes it to expensive to be worth it.

It is both of those things. I'd have to see one in the metal to really know if it's over the top or not.ericf4 wrote:I can't get into how busy and colorful it is.
