It's so much easier to steal the fruits of the labor of others than to get a job and make one's own way.

Boy you really seem to hear about this all of the time now Josh. ..Always sounds
like these are done in similar ways too, and that they unfortunately end up getting
away with it. :angryfire:

This even makes Atomic Tom mad.

Good lord - no insurance. I feel just awful for these people, but I don't know how you run a business like this without insurance.

Similar story from only a few weeks ago THAT I ACTUALLY WITNESSED

My family and I were at our local mall (Park Meadows in Lone Tree, CO). It was almost 9:00 pm, just short of closing time and we just happened to be walking past Ben Bridge. My daughter and I were walking in front of my wife and son. Literally right between us walked 3 men (not wearing masks or hoods). The one in front was carrying a huge yellow handled sledge hammer behind his back and they were walking very quickly...on a mission. I didn't see them at first, but my wife said "Greg...we should get out of here, something is about to happen". I turned around and saw the lead man, walk right up to the Rolex case and swing the sledge hammer into the case. The first swing cracked the case, the second swing shattered it. I saw the look of the poor guy behind the counter as he jumped back. I had been into the store a few times in the past and this guy had helped me look at Rolex, but at that point I wasn't going to wait to see anything else, and we took off down the mall. Maybe creating some panic in the mall, but I wasn't going to take any chances with my family.

It was pretty scary stuff. Found out later the guys got away with a bunch or Rolex watches, and as far as I know, weren't caught. I am sure Ben Bridge had insurance though.

I'm not sure if it's selective reporting, or my selective listening, but I frequently hear about these crimes yet almost never hear about anyone being caught.

I can see why...they were quick. We got to our car in around, I would guess, 2 minutes or so and as we were pulling out, there were already cop cars at a few of the entrances. They were already gone.

Been to that shop before and go that mall on occasion. It's a tiny mall but it has a affluent clientele with rich people from the beach neighborhoods and professionals in the aerospace industry and the movie studio.
