Just picked up this clean looking tool Diver...

Post by DCJ » Wed Jul 09, 2014 8:26 pm

Been eyeing this one for a while and it was the last one Chris had at Armida. Armida A5 with the older style bezel and 2824 Movement. Really liking the domed sapphire crystal. Wears a bit larger than the listed 42 to 43mm due to the oversized bezel. Has hex screws for the case lugs and bracelet links. All around clean looking diver I must say. Glad I jumped on the last one!

Looks awesome, those hands are about as white as white gets. You won't have any legibility issues with that one. Congrats.

Nice Fauxbold Seal! :stir:

J/K-I do like Armida and I like this model. I had an A4 Superdome that was pretty slick. Great hefty beater (TWSS).

DCJ, Nice addition. The A5 with the new dial and original bezel is one of my favorite Armidas.

(And yes, I own a Kobold Seal too).

I had no idea they switched away from the goofy hands. I like that a lot! Nice pickup

Nice picture. I love the hex screws this piece uses. So easy to change links out. Just a all around good looking diver.

Yeah it does have that Kobold look for sure. I was super happy to grab the last one with the older style bezel and with a discount from Chris too. The watch is really comfortable to wear as the bracelet forms perfectly to the wrist.

Even comes with two clasps!

Man, that is good looking. And, while it does look like a Seal, it has a different enough set up on the dial and hands to set it apart a bit.

Your pics make me wonder why Kobold did not use the allen screw set up. That set up rocks and sure does help prevent screwdriver slippage and resulting scratches.

I want an A1. Love the super dome!

Yeah Don, what a looker ! :excited: ..Think clean is the word here, and also cool !!!
You have this ultimate tool watch feel happening that is just fantastic. This
case design, together with the dial is epic. Really does have some Kobold
coolness going on as well sir.

The size amazes too because it looks way bigger than 42 or 43 mm. Yowza,
glad that you picked one of these up. Awesome ! Congratulations to you !

I guess they don't sell this new anymore? I checked their site, but only the saw-blade bezel version is shown. Damn shame, that's a winner. I'd rock that

Yeah I went there the other day and saw they had only one left in stock and with a ETA 2824 to boot. I had been looking at it for a while but when I saw one left I went ahead and ordered it. Even got Chris to throw a discount my way. I am wearing now as I type this and the bracelet is really comfortable. One of the cleaner divers I have owned and a nice piece of gear to have in the rotation. I agree with you, he should definitely offer this piece again as it had to be a good seller for him at Armida.

Yeah I want a A1 too which will be my next Armida purchase. I agree, the allen/hex screws are one of the major reasons I bought this piece believe it or not. It makes it so easy to size and looks cool. I wonder why more watch companies don't utilize these type of screws. Maybe expensive? Who knows but I know I like em!!

Couldn't help but take some more pictures of this one today while working at my office. Yeah on a Saturday, one of the nice perks of working for yourself....Never an off day. I am not sure what a weekend is but then again I never work a full day either  .....kidding I do work a lot, way to much actually.

I really like the double domed sapphire crystal. It is a nice touch, subtle but very noticeable. It is also AR Coated on the underside.
