Just dropped....Well worth it for under a Grand!!

Post by DCJ » Sat Jun 28, 2014 8:53 pm

Just received my Orient 300m Saturation Diver and for the Money being under a Grand, by far one of the best valued Divers out there. I have always read that this piece is well made but I am blown away by the detail. Love the sawtooth bezel and how thick and wide it is. Lume is great and the power reserve is awesome to have. I guess some would say the movement is the downfall to this piece but it has kept great time thus far. I threw on a pilot bracelet and it turned out pretty cool. This will be a keeper and most likely a daily wearer for me as I am just blown away by the fit and finish. Really an amazing piece. Brand new under a Grand for this Diver....yeah I would do it again ;) Here are a few pics of this cool piece of gear on the Pilot Bracelet.....

Thanks guys... You see a huge variation on pricing brand new for this piece and I guess one could easily spend over a Grand if they didn't do their homework but this is a lot watch for the $$$...

I love this watch! So much so I have owned one 4x's! The point is it is just too thick for my puny wrist. Everytime I buy one I guess I think my wrist grew or the model shrunk! :banghead:

I've been thinking of buying an orange one. I have a hard time getting past the Orient brand name and logo, but the rest of the watch looks great.

Yeah it is rather big but you will not care once you get it in hand I don't think. I have seen the orange in person and it looks really good. I have had thoughts now since I have this one of getting the orange too. It is a deep orange color.

Congrats  certainly a lot of watch for the money. I liked mine too but the size was too much, very heavy for me. I still want to try a white one some day.

So why do you say that the movement is the only downfall? very nice BTW.

Had to google that. I was wondering myself.
So it appears to be a Breitling thing.

Part of the price variation has to do with the fact that the newer version has the hacking/handwinding movement and thus demands more value. Nice piece.

Too cool Don ! :headbang: ..Terrific how these watches seem to go from ultra dress
mode, to aggressive sport mode with such ease. Think it has a lot to do with the
incredible care that was taken to design such a beautiful case, as well as bezel.
Then to add in such an extremely eye-catching dial is the cherry on top.

You will be finding out new things to appreciate about this every time you wear it.
Congrats Don. Keep enjoying ! ..P.S. Great idea adding that bracelet in !!!

Hey thanks for the kind words! You are right this piece can go classy or sporty. I am blown away by the attention to detail and how well made the Diver is for the Money. I have not taken it off since it arrived the other day. Really cool piece of gear. One of the better Bezels I have encountered in a long time. I am glad to have gotten it!!

I am a big OS300 fan. I reckon if they kept this watch as is but re-engineered towards a 42mm case it would be the best selling Orient of all time....and give ALL the other dive watch makers a huge headache.
