Meet Slidey, the unofficial DWC mascot!

Post by polaco23 » Mon May 31, 2010 1:28 pm

Found this little fella (Red Eared Slider) in my grass while mowing the lawn. A bird must have grabbed him and dropped him into the grass, since he still had his egg tooth (meaning he was only born that day). Well i decided to keep little "slidey" in a spare 10 gallon tank which was partiall sand and partially water.

I was planning on keeping slidet until he was large enough to care for himself, then release him into the stream 2 houses down, but he wouldnt eat my buffet of lettuce and bloodworms (exotic fish food i had leftover in my freezer from my late puffer fish (RIP Shawn, you are missed) ). So after a few days i put him back into the wild, where he decided to bite my finger HARD for all my trouble. The little shit!

Anyhoo, here are some pics of the little fella with two of my favorite divers.

I made the mistake of bringing one of those home about ten years ago. They grow HUGE, and they stink something awful. I had serious filters on his tank and nothing could stop the funk from coming back. They are cute though.

funny you mention that, i just learned what the hell a "flymo" is, and to our US members, please check it out!

Did you guys know the rest of the world uses friggin hovercraft lawnmowers?!?!?!?!?! no im not kidding! these things float on the grass, making it easy to push, can you believe theyve been hiding this from us all along! :banghead:

whoah, i just googled flymo and hit a link, taking me to a white supremacist forum.

apparantly google image it at your own risk, but check it out!
