When will you be there. I might be taking off Friday to go with a couple of buddies to watch practice and generally screw around. If you haven't been, it's a great location. Beautiful place to have a race.

We'll just be there the day of the race. Dad is taking a customer and we'll be hitting the pits with the Ganassi crew. If you're around on race day, PM me and we'll meet for some brews.

I've been an F1 fan since the days of Jimmy Clark, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Dan Gurney, Phil Hill, etc. The sport has changed SO much technologically since then, but I can guarantee that those guys 50 years ago would be fully up to the task of winning in today's machines, too. After becoming the World F1 Driving Champion, Clark came to the U.S. and won the Indy 500!

I will give it a few races to sort out but so far I can say for certain the engine sound is not terribly exciting.
cheers,

Keith

Race was OK, more cars finished than I had feared. Too bad that two of the world chaps were out in the first few laps.

Looking forward to some of the reliability issues to be sorted out. Damn that Merc is quick!

Doubtful...I suspect they might have the same issues Senna had, as cars and technology evolved.

I am an absolute geared by any and all standards , but I must say that I am more of a drag racing fan than anything else. I am not slanting or diminishing the shed skill and willpower it takes to do this I drove IMCA Modified for two seasons myself but acceleration is what I loved. I wish I had cable tv so I could watch racing all I get is fucking NASCAR and it makes me want to punch a puppy. I would love to see a few of the races in person but I live quite a ways off from any decent track on the circuit.

Red Bull and Daniel Riccardo, who placed 2nd, were disqualified from the Australian GP for exceeded the allowable fuel flow during the race. That is a shame. They are appealing the decision... :banghead:

Lot's of big names didn't finish the race due to engine issues....Hopefully, they get this figured out.
