Anything above 96th street on Park Avenue is officially the hinterlands.

Re: Explosion in NYC ?
Trust me, this was no terrorist attack. Most likely it was a gas explosion. I just hope that no one was injured severely or killed.

Man, that looks quite serious. Best of luck out there to the firemen and police. I hope they can prevent it from spreading too seriously.

Like Adam said, definitely not a terrorist attack in that neighborhood.

One on our distributors is really close...I could hear all the commotion when we were talking on the phone. He said it spooked the hell out of everyone in the office.

Nope, just a lot of brown folks, which is why it couldn't possibly be terrorist-related.moishlashen wrote:Is that "flyover" NYC country? Where all the unenlightened live?
It's like my mom always says when she travels to iffy spots and I warn her about being kidnapped: "Who, me? No, son, they'll go for the white people. I'll be just fine."
Now, if this had happened in the Financial District, or, hell, even just a few blocks south of 96th Street, then folks would be truly bugging out.

The last I saw was at least one confirmed dead. I'm sure there will be more, unfortunately.

It's up to two now, though it's hard to believe that there weren't more folks in the building at the time of the explosion. Honestly, given how completely it was destroyed, I don't see how anyone could've survived.JBZ wrote:The last I saw was at least one confirmed dead. I'm sure there will be more, unfortunately.
The worst part is that it's being said that people in the building had been complaining about smelling gas for at least a week before today. If this is true, then someone really dropped the ball here.

Terrible. Amazing how this could even happen. Especially if people had been compalining way ahead of time.

The only way it could be terrorist related is if someone was trying to make an IED.craniotes wrote:Nope, just a lot of brown folks, which is why it couldn't possibly be terrorist-related.moishlashen wrote:Is that "flyover" NYC country? Where all the unenlightened live?
