MCC2 subdials are cool, in an eclectic sorta way (not my photo).

PAM 24A - this design was absolutely made to go with patina.

JLC Master Perpetual - busy dial, yet still somehow legible. Plenty of sub-dials here.

Calibre de Cartier - this design was great. Textures, levels, and finishes made it really legible. Unfortunately, I don't have a good macro of it. But here's an example of how it was made to be legible in low light.

JLC MC GMT - GMT sub-dial. Legible based on the style of hand. You'd think it's too cramped to fit 24 hours in there, but it was great.

IWC Spitfire 3878 - still one of my favorites. Great use of finishing contrasts between dial (sunburst) and sub-dials (concentric). Hand design is harmonious with the style of the watch.

Tag Heuer Carrera RS2 - one of the funnest implementations of chronograph and running second sub-dials out there. Wouldn't mind me a non-PVD version of this watch.

Patek 5980 - not the most creative or fine finishing of the sub-dial, but the presentation of the chronograph is unique in design, in that it really retains compactness well.

Omega POC 9300 - Bi-compax with a very legible presentation of elapsed time. Also, one of my favorites:

Ultra bad ass thread, Mike. Incredible posts all.

I like the utilitarian yet perfect subdials you find on a Bund...

Love the day/night indicator on my old Speedie Mark, among other aspects of the Lem 5100.

And I found the panda dial on my vintage Precimax to be just what the doctor ordered.

Very interesting post & seeing all the different ways sub-dials are treated / integrated into a main dial.

Here are a few....
