It's the 12th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks and I guess I wanted to post just in case some of us may have gotten wrapped up in our busy lives full of things we seem to think are important. This is one of those days that puts everything in to perspective for me. Never forget...

my youngest asked me about what happened and, even in simple terms for his age, I can't make it thru without having to stop and wipe my eyes.
At least he knows it's serious and not to be taken lightly

After working for a week at Ground Zero I find it hard to watch the memorial services each year.
only accurate watches are interesting

MSNBC is showing the entire coverage from the Today show as it happened. Takes you right back. Interesting timing with Syria.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.

11Sep2001 was a Tuesday. Tuesdays in college are always small group/recitation days so I was in the chemical engineering grad student lounge in Amundson Hall on the U of Minn east bank campus when I learned of it for the first time. I stood there in shock for a minute watching on TV. Then I called my Brother and asked WTF was going on. Went home and watched TV for 3 days straight.

Hard to believe it has been 12 years already. Chris, I think I had the T.V. going 24/7 for the following week - couldn't stop watching.

A day I will never forget.

I never thought I would see the day that New Yorkers showed fear. I was walking up Park Ave with some co-workers to get lunch that day. All flights had been grounded when we heard the roar of jet engines. People were fleeing the streets in fear that another plane was going to crash into the city. I look up and it was two F-16's flying CAP over the city.

My office was a few blocks away, with an unimpeded view of the towers. We weren't sure whether it was safer to be in the buildings or on the street since we expected more planes to crash into the area.

This is the firehouse near Wall St - between the two companies housed there, they lost 14 men that day.
