This is a rare one.Could be one of the first Waltham's in WW2.Was issued before the US got in to WW2 to the RAF from the issue date and movement date 1940.One member from MWR PM me said he only saw four of these.I contacted him due to I did a search on MWR and saw he got one on fleabay last year same case ,movement, dial, hands and the case marking. Here is what the marking mean's down graded to a 234 from a 159 code on the back cover.234 stands for subsitute standard pilot's wristwatch also can mean repair reissue.159 stands for pilot's/navigator's watch. The movement's a waltham premier 870 movement,18 jewel's made in 1940,the case is a Dennison case, fixed lug, serial no. on case and cover match. The watch is a little beat up but if this was used in a spite fire not mutch room in a fighter you proberly hit it on every thing.Just think of the history in this watch.
