There's one on today's WRUW thread. Can't remember who it is that posted it though.

I believe they are from the same company that makes Frederique Constant.

Correction - it was yesterday's WRUW and it's Gregger. Doesn't post much but maybe you could entice him to grace us with some thoughts on it. ;)

It's a great watch and Alpina is an older brand, used to focus on mvts back in the day and kinda disappeared... They are now a lower-end and sportier brand of the company who owns FC as Chris said. Legitimate Swiss watchmaker with history IMHO. But like Anonimo major drop in value for resale though they seem to be coming back and pushing marketing so that may help?

The one with the slate dial looks a lot like my old IWC Spirifre.
My only dislike is the crown

I like the looks of these and the non-chrono version too. Decent looks and reasonable prices = win.

I actually ordered a quartz (!) version of the green-dial Startimer, but when it came in the production dial design had changed significantly, so I cancelled my order. The first photo below is what I ordered; the second photo is what went into production. :naughty:

I'm with Brice, I love everything about the watch but the crown. I really like wearing my Extreme Diver, I enjoy that watch a lot.

I really like this one. A year or so back I stopped in at Right Time in Denver and they had a few in the case. The lighting in the case made this watch look incredible. The polishing was superb. I actually really like the crown.

Cool pilot. Poor man's IWC. I'd rock it.

I like these a lot.
"30ish years of martial arts and I've actually had the honor of training lots of LEO, spec ops and even SEAL team 6 on base, fitness training, not martial arts, but still the coolest thing I've done.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.

Thanks for letting me play! "

I agree on the crown. Not the best looking. But still a very good looking watch otherwise.

Always wondered about this too Eric. Maybe we'll start seeing more of them now. I mean even the
rotors are worth talking about. :) 8-) ..Awesome looking watches.

P.S. Thanks for the info, along with insight about them Chris, and Brice.

Sorry it didn't work out with that Startimer also Tom. Looks like they really did change that.

Yeah, well it didn't really seem to be his style. Back to the original topic, I do think both Alpina and FC are doing some cool things. Except for copying the expanded date window on the 'extreme' diver, it's good looking as well!

Cool chrono. Alpina is very underrated in my opinion.
Looks almost like Drew/Brice/Gordo's IWC
