ok, I need some advice...

Post by theoilrigger » Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:31 am

so, my favorite flipping brother Paul sent me this link for a B-1 that I've been wanting for a while...

he wants to trade for my 2254. good deal or not?

heres the link...

http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=386208

it seems like an older B-1 since it does not have the "chronometer" on the dial, but I can't complain, my 2254 is 10 years old!

thanks guys!!!

Not sure about the deal value, but I like the Omega better than that particular Breitling. A little too busy for me for some reason.

I like that Breitling.

I think it's a little more unique than the 2254, so if you've been wanting the B1 and you don't often wear the 2254, I say go for it.

As to value, I'm unsure as I don't keep up on Breitlings, but it comes with strap and bracelet, so that's a nice plus.

I like the Omega better, too.

Tough call...The B1 is not my cup of tea (Ana digi dial) but it is cool looking and has a neat
caseback...

Hard to go against the 2254, one of the all time classics...

Brand new, the Breitling is more money but hard to evaluate as it's a Tactical watch...vs a classic diver...

I'd probably keep the 2254 but that's me..

i think the omega is worth a bit more, but the Breitling looks great, and has the OEM bracelet which is a huge plus IMO. id do the trade, but maybe he might add some cash, not much needed though.

id do the trade!

If you didn't have the Sub, I'd sat keep the Omega. That Breitling is pretty cool, plus it's different. There isn't anything that the Omega can do that the Sub can't and vice versa. If it were me, and I had been looking for the B, I'd do it. THose 2254s always seem to pop up just when someone is hunting one.

The Breitling is worth about $1400.

I'd want a newer thermocompensated cosc B-1 if it were me.
They are cool watches but kind of a pain to set up properly.

Don't really know much about whats worth more etc so can't help you there. Omega is fairly common compared to the B1. Sounds like you want to mix it up a little. I would probably go for it. B1 is a pretty cool watch. :salute:

Let us know how it turns out.

You're my favorite as well!

Seriously, I like the Omega, but I just saw one in a gym (somewhere in Europe :shh: ) and I thought it was a little blingy/shiny.

Anyway, good luck, brother!!
