Second time around...

Post by SCM64 » Sun Apr 11, 2010 11:04 am

Ever have a watch you like, but don't really wear much? Then it comes together? I had my Bathys on a stingray strap (below), and it looked great but the factory Bathys deployant clasp sucked out loud. Next I tried it on a leather Nato, that was ok, certainly more secure then the deployant. But it mostly sat in the winder. My wife would wear it once in a while.

Well yesterday I saw it sitting there and thought to put it on a Black Zulu. I had to use a 20mm, since the 22mm was pulling U1 Spec Ops duty. After putting this in the Zulu, I am falling in love with it all over again! The MOP face is luscious, it's easy as heck to read, and the lume rocks.

While it won't make a huge dent in the rotation, the Bathys has reminded me what a cool watch it is. And sleek too. Quite a change going from something like the Trimix, to the Bathys.

On the Stingray, then on Zulu.

Like it a lot...

You're right--that Bathys deployant is the absolute
worst....

I know exactly how you feel...

Sometimes a change of strap or bracelet is akin to a new watch!

Nothing wrong with a little alteration on how it's worn to make something grab your attention a little.

Yeah the nato is Gold. Always nice to improve a watch and move it up in the rotation.

Everything looks better on a zulu strap IMO

Looks great mate, it's amazing how much of a difference a new strap makes..... can completely make or break how you feel about a watch.

I like Bathys watches on stingray, but I wore it on a tang buckle.

Looks good on the zulu too though. I need to get more one of those again soon. Loved the black MOP. You're dead-on about the legibility too, Steven - Bathys does that very well.

I had that Bathys and went through several strap changes looking for the perfect match...

including a Stingray.

If I had tried the Zulu, I might still have the watch.

Looks great!

I've had mine on a Zulu for a few months, but it wasn't exactly right. The zulu hardware overpowers the [almost too small] dial. Ended up putting it on carbon fiber a few days ago, which is my favorite so far in this never ending strap hunt.

P.S. I don't get Bathys either.
Chris
