Cozumel dive videos

Post by suddha » Mon Dec 07, 2009 7:07 am

Since we have YouTube capabilities here, I thought I'd put up the video compilations from my Cozumel trip of a couple weeks ago.

The first one is a pretty bad video of the C-53 wreck dive. This is a 150ft. Navy minesweeper that was sunk off of the island a few years ago. Sits at about 70 feet. It's a fun wreck to penetrate because of the good viz and easy entry and exit. Nothing too spooky here. Sorry for the video. I was experimenting with a camera integrated into a scuba mask. Cool tech, but hard to get used to.

The second video is an edited compilation of various reef dives we did, including the Palancar system, Yucab and Punta Tunich. Look for a huge lobster, a moray, porcupinefish, turtles, angelfish and many other undersea characters.

To keep it watch-related, I was wearing my Citizen Aqualand classic on the wreck dive and my Doxa and Suunto for the others.

Great vids! How deep on the second one?
I dove Cozumel about 25 years ago and loved it.
One day..

Thanks, Jay! That second video is an edited compilation of a lot of dives. The deepest I was all week was about 95 feet, mainly in the area where you see those towering coral heads and swim throughs. Gorgeous.

25 years ago? Man, Cozumel must have been great then... in the "Against All Odds" era.

There was that one beach with small plane in about 30 feet of water. I think it was used for some movie. Very eerie.
