I just sprang for this exquisite Smiths Military in the larger 39mm size and double-domed sapphire crystal. It's a finely-crafted low volume timepiece closely patterned after the original Smiths Militarys of the 1960s. As you can see, the case is intricately machined, brushed, and engraved - - no lasering here! The movement is a 17 jewel ETA 2801 running at 28800 bpm. It's already been "despatched" from England!

I could hear Don Pardo's sonorous voice reading that.

Congrats on the pickup. Nice watch.

Cool piece Tom. I like its simplicity and style.

But I gotta ask about the copyright on a few of those pics. The last couple where its shown in its case. Is that dude's name really "murgatroyd", as in "heavens to murgatroyd"?

Somebody playing with that?

That's the dude's name! In fact, just this week I came across a photo of a girl (actress? model?) who had the same last name.

Bizarro. They have a connection to a piece of literary history and television history. Peta has her own body of work going on along with all that.

Still a cool watch. Congrats.

Just nothing wrong with that. The size and classic lines means you could go suit to weekend with it. Really cool.

Thanks for letting me play! "
