Recent arrival!

Post by Enskeri » Sat May 26, 2012 8:00 am

So I got a new watch this week. What is it?
Image
Rolex?
Image
Nope, it's a Tudor 79170.
Image

According to serial it indicates to be last "Big blocks" to be produced, if I have understood correctly last prduction year was about 1995. I have the original papers&box and it's probably been on store window for couple of years before sold. One user before me and condition is excellent!

Those who don't know it has acrylic crystal, movement is Valjoux 7750, Rolex case, bracelet and crowns. Many say it's poor mans Daytona, but I disagree as it has own soul and case differs from Daytona in better direction IMO.

I like the watch, pretty thick but comfortable! I need to take better pics, but for now here's couple:

:excited:

Congrats. I agree - it's one of the most comfortable 7750's I've worn.

I totally agree with you. I really love the Rolex line, but the Daytona just doesn't get me hot and bothered. Not for the price. The Tudor has everything IMO that the Daytona should have. That is a great looking watch.

True, Daytona has always been kind of boring for me, except Newman Daytonas. Unfortunately prices are astronomic.

Thanks for the kind words gents!

That is hot. Smoking hot. I agree with Dave - the Tudor easily stands on its own merits and I like it considerably more than the Daytona. :shh:
