Movie night at Jay's...

Post by craniotes » Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:09 am

That's right, it was movie night at Jay's palatial crib out on Strong Island, so I humped it out of the city via LIRR to hang with the Long Island Wrecking Crew for some of Dr. Jay's signature hospitality, and of course, kickass watches. The the movie of the night was the classic British war film, "The Silent Enemy", which details the story of Commander Lester "Buster" Crabb, and his underwater battle with Italian frogmen in WWII. Unfortunately, there were some technical difficulties with the DVD, so we had to settle for "The Three Stooges". Ironic? Perhaps. Fitting? Definitely.

Even without the film we had plenty of food, beer and coconut rum on ice to keep us content downstairs in Jay's tiki bar-themed man cave, and if that weren't enough, we had these as well:

And this:

So, Jay, once again thank you for an amazing time out on the island. You're a real trooper for letting a bunch of smelly mooks like us into your lovely home and totally epic man cave. Word up, my brother!

Regards,
Adam

PS - Pat came out, too (we could tell when he arrived thanks to the police sirens outside -- don't worry, they didn't catch him).

Nothing makes the heart beat faster than a game table littered with fine watches. Actually, that's not true. No hula skirt, Jay?

Excellent pics and great movie choice: The Silent Enemy is one of my favourites and one I can (and do) watch over and over again. Great shot of a Sub in that movie, albeit historically inaccurate.

First thing that caught my eye too? Maybe after a few Stella's and some coconut rum?

I see the jacket hanging, but it does look like he's wearing a cape.

Once again thank you for your hospitallity. Took a long time to get home SS east bound had construction with two lanes closed.

Sorry, misread your post.

I am so glad you went with the cape! Save the other ensemble for when you guys watch "Can't Stop the Music". And yes, I had to look that up.
