I think it's best for those with phones with limited browsers. I frequent several forums and the iPhone browser keeps my user/pass and history current as is. As I understand it, this new app doesn't keep that.

I asked Riley about doing a version for DWC. He would have to write a new program from scratch for phpBB. The template he has developed works for vBulletin. Looks like he has registered here. Maybe he can shed some light on what it would take and gauge member interest on whether it would be a worthwhile endeavor.

The Snak has a good point though. I don't really have any issues using the iPod Touch, especially since I am able to do everything, including administrate the site, on the iPod (except no flash!) But I could see surfing websites with other mobile devices may be annoying when you aren't using a real web browser.

Hi guys. I'm new here, but it looks you have a good forum going.

This site is running phpBB, and there's some things that it does differently than vBulletin. Since I can't seem to find a way to load all the posts of a thread on one page (it has to be for a non-logged in user), so I'm not sure how to render all the posts on the mobile view. I could maybe enable it with paging, but it would be a lot more work.

Right now it just displays the forum lists, and then forwards you to the full page for each post. I hope that is of some use for you.
