Here we go, Balls Deep.
Ok, up on deck today, we have the Ball HydroCarbon Deep Quest 3000m Diver.
I got to handle JeJe's Ball, , here's my impressions.
quick specs.
3000m WR, 45mm monocoque titanium case
16.5mm thick, 5.3mm dome sapphire crystal
ETA 2892, COSC
Shock resistance of up to 7,500G's, Antimagnetic up to 4,800A/m
Equipped with a BALL’s new patented setting system (“SafetyDIVE”) that allows the diver to count down with a half-minute precision its immersion time
Tritium Tubes for luminence
Helium Escape Valve @09:00
Strange I've read many websites state the case as 43mm diameter which is clearly wrong in this case. JeJe measured, its 45mm without crown.
This is a huge beast of a diver. Very tall and big for my 6.5"
The thick crystal gives the dial a deep 3D-ish dial view. Nice depth.
Tritium tubes look great as usual with Ball's. They've seem to incorporate a new/cleaner method of applying the tubes on this one. Nicely done as you can see.
The weight is nicely balanced considering its Titanium Case. Like many titanium watches, they always seem to be too light and very non existent. But this has still got some heft to let you know there is some presence and very comfortable for long use.
The protruding crown is very unique.Solid build no doubt.
The tube threading seems endless. I was surprised how much it took to turn before it finally unscrewed. Wow, vault-like. Really cool. IMO.
The winding was super smooth and wasn't a surprise with the ETA 2892.
Interesting that the case is still so thick, even though they use a thin movement such as the ETA 2892.
Love the hands and indices. Nice detailing, as well as with the bezel and case back engraving.
The double screw lugs are funky, but twice as solid I suppose.
Very nice Mad Cow bracelet that was modded to this Ball. Interesting touch/mod.
This has to be one of the nicest, most simpler looking, Ball dial/watches. I likey very much.
Enjoy the show.
