I haven't seen one in person yet but the bezel looks fine to me? It looks unique.

I enjoy how the triangle has cut outs.

Todd its my Effen Bday
It stays with the Isofrane buckle, which is pretty good I think.
The buckle on the leather will maybe be from Ennebi if they look ok. Getting a sample.
I wanted a nice buckle that was existing, as the same old story, to have one made where I am doing business, 300 min order at silly prices.
The Iso buckle is fine. The ennebi roller buckle? IMO the best in the market, i current have one on my EF. the cost is $150 each

Yep, that one.
I am hoping it fits the holes and the strap, sure it not cheap, but it needs to be nice, so it is ok.

:1: Even in those iphone pics, that's a great looking watch. :salute:

And after Todd's latest update on the LE project, I am yet again kicking myself that I didn't stay on the list, hindsight being 20/20 now, that is. :banghead:

Great review and pics! i concur with todd, its too expensive to have a watch made totally in europe. i know i cant afford it unless i take a 2nd mortgage! Its a great 1st effort from Aegir, but i hope with the next model, todd will be more adventurous on the design side. i understand the demographic of buyers that prefer the 'norm' but still a little different is nice. :fro:

Well this watch was made 100% in Europe, and yeah it will be some time before I break even, that is for sure.

The next model of course is the CD-1, but these two were designed like this for a reason. I am not wanting to go crazy and make the Frog watch or something ( as cool as that is ), but I have some ideas for a completely original design, in terms of the way it functions, and the movement.
Not ground breaking to look at, but unique nonetheless. However, that will take years, and more money than I have, so it depends on growth of the company, with several stable models, that are perfect at what they do.

Right now, the goal is to refine what I have.
Now before people think the next watch will be better, and they are buying this one, this is not so. I mean that over time, I will correct every tiny detail , any flaw, and improve the quality of anything that can be improved, and this will of course drive up the price over the years as we go. As an example, when I have funds that allow, one of the first things I will look into, is a Bezel designed for this watch, that is perfect in its operation, maintenance free as it can be, and unique to Aegir. I have some ideas already, and I plan to have it made over this year on a larger scale local to me, then if it is along the right track, then I will ( when funds allow ) ask either Thomas Prescher to sort it out, or someone like him. These people can solve the biggest movement problems, so they can certainly make my idea into something great, or throw mine out and show me theirs, either way it will be for Aegir.
Other little details will be worked on, until this watch is talked about in the same breath as other brands that cost more and are known the world over. That is the current plan for Aegir Watches, to move forward with the LE first, the CD-1 and 44mm models, while working on refinement. Oh, and a scuba model, the SD-1.

I would love to go nuts, throw color at it, have different lines all over, but that is not inline with the business model, nor would it be a fit.

This was a great review by Matt and after reading more about the design rational and Todds development of this watch and seeing it come together as it has, I ordered a CD-2. I am hopeful I can get on the waiting list for a LE also. I am also new to the DWC forum and I like what I see!! :headbang:

Hell yes, Mark. Great choice. ;) I'm very happy with the watch thus far. Wait until you get a chance to interact with Todd a bit. It's a new part of watch ownership that was very refreshing!

Welcome to DWC. I've seen you around the forums plenty, and I'm sure we've exchanged a watch or two at some point in time.

Thanks for the welcome guys( and girls?)! Yes Matt, I think we may have swapped a watch or two in the past. I have spent most of my time on the WUS forum and TZ and was drawn to the DWF because of my interest in AEgir and Kobold. I think I will like it here as it seems a bit more lively than these other forums.

Hey Kin, Thanks for the welcome. I noted that you sold yours pretty quickly. Glad you did as I would have taken it off your hands later that day and I'm trying to down size my collection. I did see Matts moded Soarway and it was sweet with that beautiful black MOP dial and the domed crystal!

Bloody hell, bumping your own 3 year old thread? Surely that's highly questionable ;)

It is a nice watch. When I had mine in to get regulated my watchmaker was impressed with how sturdy it is.
