I've long admired these and love the concept of a maintenance-free, non-crown dive watch. Very cool.

Those are cool but not 4900 euros cool.

That is a lot to pay for a watch named after a lunch food item no matter how delicious.

Worth every penny in my book. Handmade, severely modified movement, record depth rating, utterly unique in conception...

Where's the problem?

at 4900 Euros its got some stiff competition from more well known brands. i know pita certainly are no mugs but will be interesting to see how many actually sell at the price.
im not saying its not worth it but its one for sure id have to handle first before i parted with that kind of dough!

It's not so much the purchase cost (if I were going to spend that kind of money) but the network of service facilities. I don't know anything abou the company, and apologies in advance if I'm wrong, but I assume they are a small operation compared to other more established brands? My Rolexes, for example, go to Rolex UK for servicing and repair, but would these need to go to Spain? I love the watch and would definately have one if I had a much larger disposable income, but if all I had to spend was E4900, I would think twice based on these reasons.

You said it best. In this age of watches, with everyone copying everyone, and watches looking so similar, these is truly unique, functional, and definitley outside the box, and in my opinion, the watch looks amazing. Its not only inventive , but a damn cool looking diver. If I had that kind of cash, I would buy it.

i don't like the hands on the oceana. had they stayed with or offered the prototype hands i would have been somewhat interested. and i've seen some close-up pics of the production hands and they were unevenly finished along the edge...that would be a disappointing turnoff for me.

this is one of those pieces that would be interesting to try on the wrist but not a real contender for a purchase which is unfortunate because i like some aspects of the case and overall design.

Matt, what exactly do you find ugly. i can't really see any egregious design choices to call it ugly, but bland...maybe. the colored 'depth' indicator is gimicky.

I'm with Steve on this one, hear what Adam is saying (plus I understand he knows his shit) but at that coin I want a better than good chance the brand is still in business a couple years down the road! Might be the best watch ever but if you can't get parts that just kinda scares me and would rather stay with the big boys! just saw a 5513 Submariner owned by Steve McQueen while looking at the vintage Rolex'es this morning at Fourtanes but since it's sold for 234,000.00 in 2009 I'm sure John Bonifas and his kids Kris and Josh would want a bit more! Guess what I'm rambling about is they have way over 100 vintage pieces and many subs I have never seen and can still get Rolex parts for these....naturally im sure most if not all are way out of my league! Master Wu, did see a very sweet Explorer II "straight hand" first series 1655... back to the Pita, like mine with pastrami and Swiss but the watch is pretty cool! I've only had 1/2 of a bloody Mary so can't even blame the booze for this post... :raised:

Doesn't look bad, but for 4900 euros plenty of other awesome pieces out there, and no worries on whether you can get your watch fixed in 10 years.

I understand the innovation and specs, but end result is fugly. The face, hands, branding/dial font, just dont cry rugged, nor high-end as for as finish goes. Then again neiter does the tactical case.

Aside from the tech specs, the watch it self looks like a Sinn/UTS/Oris/Kobold with a swatch watch dial.

I think this is a very cool watch. The design and mods are refreshing and the depth rating is impressive. The price is rather high but with what you get, probably not terribly out of line.
