So i go online to look around for a vintage Doxa (as if i can afford one, ha!) and stumbled across this impressive private collection and website. Lots of reviews and great pics of these beauties. Be sure to bookmark this one!

Ah yes, Dr. Peter Millar's drool-inducing website  He's also the author of two Doxa books, the Doxa Sub history (here: http://www.doxawatches.com/doxa_book.html) and the new Diving with Legends, which is set to release at some point soon (or already has?? ). The DWL is also being released concurrently with Doxa's limited edition reissue, the DWL Sub. Check over at the Doxa forum for the news on that one.

Any way you shake it, Dom, you ain't coming outta this one without a Doxa. It's the only thing that will cure the wet dreams. :gayumbrella:

I know! sorry Brad, how's the saving up going for your next one?

If found this Zeno Army Diver to fit my needs, since it has a domed acrylic crystal (my favorite thing ever!), and similar case, dial, and bezel.

3 watches on my BUY list:

1) Glycine Lagunare 300. I just HAVE to find out how that bezel feels
2) ORIS Small Seconds or even better -- Mei3tertaucher
3) Doxa SUB 1000T SHARKHUNTER (or ANY sharkhunter whatsoever)

But as Ari Gold says "tell Drama he's on the top of my list of things to do today, along with inserting needles in my c*ck!" I believe I have more chances of this what he said than to buy all three of these.. And it would be less painful. :raised:

Yeah and it even has a better design than the DOXA reissue; DOXA lugs are just preposterous

Guys,

thanks you very much for the kind words. I never knew about this place until I saw it on Eddie's Timefactors forum.

I haven't updated the Doxa site in quite a while. Kinda fell out with them a bit but and felt I didn't really have much more to say. I also just wanted to walk away from forums etc and concentrate on the Diving With legends (DWL) book... shameless plug

http://www.divingwithlegends.com

I have to say that Doxa came back and I'm a happy camper with them again. They are producing the DWL watch and giving one to the contributors in the book. I'll update the Doxa page with a review next month.

If you haven't seen what is in the Doxa book go read some of the chapters

http://www.thedoxabook.com

and as a special treat go download this. It is a chapter that isn't in the book.

http://www.thedoxabook.com/bookaddendum.pdf

1.5 meg download, but I think you will enjoy it.

Thanks again guys. I'll pop in every once in a while.

If any of you are near Chicago on 20th February come along to the Our World Underwater Dive show near O'Hare. The book and watch are being released in a presentation at 4 PM.

Pete

Definitely on the short list for 2010.

Now I can edit this post: somebody has a 750T searambler incoming (and is minus one Heliox  ) First trade - wish me luck.
