Ploprof goes wreck diving

Post by suddha » Sat Jan 23, 2010 4:18 pm

Video of a wreck dive I did in Sri Lanka. It's an Indian cargo ship that sank offshore in 1993. It's still pretty well intact, lying on its port side in about 100 feet of water. Visibility was poor and the current was blowing. You can see the Ploprof at the beginning of the video and again at about the 2:55 time mark in the video, when I did a time/depth check.

Looking at new watches for my wife, and while checking out the Omega AT line on a website, she spotted the Ploprof. Her response?

Wow - what the heck is that ugly thing. That's the ugliest watch I've ever seen.

 :banplz:

Funny... my wife was the one who encouraged me to bu my Ploprof while having the bracelet sized on her PO chrono. She thinks it's the coolest watch. Love that woman...

You're a lucky man then, Jason. Though my wife is growing more particular about watches. She's noticing them more and commenting on them more often. I promised her I'd get her a quartz (she currently has an auto and doesn't like maintaining it). Currently, the #1 contender is the ladies (or midsize - need to try it on to decide) blue dialed Aqua Terra. She LOVED that one.

The Ploprof is a unique watch with history. For me, that alone puts it on the potential list.

Cool!

Looks like you had fun.

Just curious, but what was the water temp there? Only asking because I can never get my guys to wear enough rubber and we sometimes dive for nearly 8 hours. They like to just wear a shorty with cammies on top and end up freezing their cojones, but they would rather not have the restrictions of rubber. Personally, I like to be warm and would rather over dress.

84 degreees usually and I wore a 2mm shorty but wished I had my 3/2 full suit.
