Benrus type II military issue Diver
Benrus type II military issue Diver
Here is one of my favorite military watches and I do use this one. It's a Benrus type II class A issue Diver/Navigation wristwatch rated at depth 1,200 feet and altitude of 35,000 feet these were issued from the 1970's to the 1980.Was one of the first issued automatics for the US military. It has a solid case like the Seiko marine master you have remove the crystal to get to the movement. Also has a screw down crown. And a 17 jewel movement that hacks.
Like the dome on the crystal.
Mine was issued in 1977.
Still has a little glow left at nite.I just love the design of the case and the bezel ring the number's on the ring all most look 3D.

Wow, that looks like a Yao homage
Seriously...cool piece you can see where a lot of the newer brands got their styling cues

Very cool.
Interesting bezel. It has small ticks like a dive watch, but it's a twelve hour bezel. Dual time zone, sure. But why the small ticks from 1-4? I would think purpose over style with an issue watch like that. Any insight as to the reason?

This is a dual purpose watch Diver/Navigation so that the clicks were most likely when it was used for navigation by a pilot here is a shot of the Marathon Navigator same click'sSCM64 wrote:Very cool.

I have foolishly owned a few of these and sold them. The one I miss the most was a Type II Class B...do not sell you will regret it...
Not to mention while I know we are both into mil watches, this is probably one of the best American mil watches...I find myself gravitating to British issued and then wondering why I didn't keep the best American ones I had

Still have it not a flipper like most of you now these are to dam hard to find because serious vintage and military collectors are taking my lead and holding on to them. Just wished I got a type 1 at the same time would be about 2000 cheaper than they sell now and would of had a cool pair. And it's not for sell. Dam this is a old thread brought up from the dead The type 1 use to sell for 2000 the type 2 about a 1000 and I thought that was to much when I bought it now look what they sell for would like to get a type 1 but out of my price range now.
