I would, but only if Tom came out and publicly stated that:

Yes, my brother is a shit bag, and neither Corvus Watch Co. or I will ever have anything further to do with him, either professionally or personally. Please don't hold the actions of my fucktard brother against me or my watch company. I am a US military veteran and have always been an upstanding, law abiding and moral individual. Thank you.

I'll even let him copy and paste this to the home page of their website free of charge.

I seem to recall something on WUS about the (now) ex wife getting his share in the divorce. If true, it is either a now single-mom with half interest in a company who has lost her ex husband's income . . . or a shameless plot to hide assets.

You can search here to see if he has started serving his sentence yet. http://www.bop.gov/iloc2/LocateInmate.jsp

Obviously, not serving yet. http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-new ... ck_check=1

$500 Wow. That's some pretty bad resale or someone wanted dump that fast.

This is kinda cool.

So I emailed Corvus. I asked them what they had to say about one of their founders being charged.

Personally, I feel a lot better about the brand. Whenever we enter into an enterprise, especially with family involved you never know how it will turn out. It looks like Mike at Corvus went into this with the best of intentions and its his extreme bad luck that his brother and business partner ended up being who he is and doing what he did. What a weird situation.

I think it's a shame because its a small American company in the watch world doing something unique stuff with materials and building upon some real American dive watch heritage. Don't see a lot of that. I'm leaning on possibly buying one of their pieces and I'm leaning even more so in that direction.

Hopefully they don't mind me posting this... This is what they had to say:
As you know this is a small family-owned company. The individual you are referring to has not been a part of this company for quite sometime. Plus, our company has always been bigger than any one individual.

As a family, we are saddened, shocked, and deeply disappointed in this situation. As a company, we continue to operate with a love of the watch business and a passion for our work.

We are moving forward with Corvus Watch Company and its mission to resurrect and reissue rare classic American military watches.

Thank you for your interest,

Mike

It may be wrong, but I don't think I could pull the trigger.

They should have already gone through a name change and rebranding, and also got out in front of a valid question like yours when doing the name change.

It's a shame that perv ruined things for others, but the stigma of the Corvus name, right or wrong, is going to stick for some time.

I had some interactions with Tom when I was interested in the watch about 18 months ago and had no clue about his brother, etc... He was great to deal with and I have actually had two Corvus Bradley watches I bought off the forums, a regular bezel one and then a sapphire bezel one. I thought they were awesome watches if not a bit overpriced new (but I did not buy them new). It is a watch I have been tempted to buy again and keep long term based on the utility vs. price used.

Good answer, and it definitely makes me feel better about the brand, but, like Steven, not enough for me to plunk down my bones for a Bradley.

That modded one is pretty cool, though.

He's still in custody and I'm guessing, although the story doesn't say, that he's begun serving his sentence pending his appeal. An appeal is always a likelihood in these cases. Doesn't mean he'll win either. And keep in mind an appeal typically takes more than a year to get thru the system. I don't know anything about Maine constitutional law, but if it's anything like Kentucky's constitution, he gets one appeal as a matter of right. Any subsequent appeals would be on discretionary review by Maine's Supreme Court. But again, I don't practice in Maine so I have no idea how their appeal process works. All i can say is that if they were on his hard drive, they were his and short of some evidence to the contrary, an appellate court will uphold the conviction.
You give respect, you'll get respect - you just don't know your place.

This would do it for me too. :snooty: Lots of other brands out there in the meantime.
